From the moment we arrived, we had so much fun at this wonderful restaurant. The owner, Mr Raja Sagaran - or “Raj” to his regulars, is a charming 65 year old gent from Penang with many a story to tell. The restaurant is open on...two sides, so we enjoyed listening to the rain pelting down. Raj cooked my wife’s king prawns himself- having donned his special apron. We will be back for more fun tomorrow.More

We had a wonderful evening at Brass Monkey. Lots of laughs and good food. The owner is an absolute gem who spoilt us with attention and great humour. We hope to dine with them again before we leave KK.

When I asked the locals if they know where I could get a proper steak, they pointed me in the direction of Brass Monkey and they were right. Now everytime I'm back in KK, that's where I'd head as its now my mot favourite place...to go for a steak. You can't go wrong with Brass Monkey. The owner, Rajah is also now a good friend whom I enjoy a beer of two with, every now and then. A must try when visiting KK!More

What a fantastic evening we have just had with Raj and his team at Brass Monkey. The service was outstanding and the food matched it. Shame we have only got 1 night left or we would definitely be going back again. If you are looking...for a good meal and great hospitality make sure you go here. Thank you so much for making our family feel so welcome. The Jones family.More

We stumbled on the Brass Monkey 4 hours before opening time. The guy at the entrance stated that they weren't open but inquired what sort of a meal it was that we were after. With no kitchen staff, it was the owner, Raj, who donned...the apron and put a meal together for us. That was the start of a relationship that kept us coming back for more over the next 3 weeks. The knowledgeable and well traveled Raj, together his wonderful friendly staff, make this more than just an eating experience. The menu is varied and there is also a certain flair. Always nice to be surprised, like the Grand Marnier-mango desert that wasn't on the menu! The restaurant does not have scenic views but the decor is lovely and artistic in an unusual way. There are other regular diners that frequent the Brass Monkey too. Just before sunset a quarrel of sparrows come to visit Raj for a feed of broken rice. A South African, a Kiwi and a Scotsman walked into a restaurant..... The rest is history ..... and hopefully we get to visit again soon.More
