Had a few take away cappuccinos from here. Really good coffee. Has a nice atmosphere and it was one of the few cafes open by 8. They also sell sourdough bread. They do charge extra for a TA cup.

Nook Cafe holds the top spot for cafes in KK for good reason. Very trendy, relaxed layout, friendly staff and a good choice of breakfast options. We sat outside in view go the world's biggest Banyon tree, peaceful and cool. I has the Shakshuka, my...had the French toast, both were big portions and were delicious. Flat white coffees were very, very good- strong but not bitter. So highly recommended, we'll definitely be back for breakfast, lunch or early dinner- hopefully all three but not on the same day (:More

The cafe was closed the first day that we tried to visit. On our 2nd visit the cafe was open but had limited food choices for vegetarians. Bread looked great though and the scrambled eggs were good. Staff not particularly helpful.

While in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo Nook Cafe ticked all the boxes we look for when travelling and doing remote work. We generally stay in budget accommodations that are good for sleeping but not always good for doing our digital work. We look for seek spots...with good wifi so we can catch up on work in a fresh, comfortable environment. Good coffee/tea, and as a bonus good food, at a reasonable price (aka: table and wifi rental fee 😉) is a must. The strong wifi at Nook was consistent, not always a guarantee in our experience. It’s also a comfortable space with good AC (read: not too cold) and friendly, attentive staff who are chill about letting folks hang out with their laptops and work. A note to our fellow travellers out there. Please be courteous about this. Buy food and drink, and if the place gets super busy and you’ve been there a while, be a good human and give up your table to others. As for their coffee, it’s a more “western” style cafe serving things like latte, Americanos, and espresso, and at a slightly higher price than the local coffee shops. But the coffee is delicious, and the “higher” price is relative given the overall affordability of Malaysia. And their food is outstanding. We had a bagel with duck breast that was off-the-charts delicious, a luscious grilled cheese on sourdough served with a side of tomato soup (just like grilled cheese was meant to be served), and a killer Rojal Buah served with prawn crackers. The most we spent at a sitting was RM 55 (CDN $16.65), and that was for two outstanding Dirty Chai Teas and the aforementioned grilled cheese sandwich and Rojak Buah salad. That’s a pretty damn good deal for a filling lunch and a couple of hours of reliable wifi in a comfy, chill space. *Bonus points: Nook is steps away from a clean, modern laundromat, so you can catch up on laundry while you chill with delicious drinks and good food.More

Bad service We had placed the order for 30minutes and approached the staff for checking on the order. Then the staff explained that the food will only be started making after payment settled, which is not introduced at arrival. They had actually received and printed...out our orders, but not even to remind customers to settle the payment for 30minutes. Leaving us to wait for that long time.More

We came here for breakfast as we’d seen the menu online and it ticked our dietary requirements and the food looked really nice. When we arrived, the staff were apologetic and gave us a long list of things that were unavailable, and a number of...these were options we would have ordered. We placed our order and after 5 minutes we were told that one of the breakfast items we had ordered was now unavailable and so we had to order something else that we wouldn’t ordinarily have ordered. 5 minutes later, we were told that we owed 1 RM for the new item! The delivery of the food to the table was staggered and we watched as the other ate. The staff are very sweet and it’s a nice restaurant but it’s not great when half the menu is not available. The smoothie bowls were average and whilst tasty, compared with other smoothie bowls we have had, the fruit portions were tiny with the thinnest and most paltry slices of jack fruit and banana which was disappointing. We ordered a hot cappuccino and it was luke warm. The food for what we got was average and overpriced. A disappointing experience and sadly we won’t recommend this place nor would we come back.More

A very nice cafe off the busy main road which serves western fare. Menu selection was varied and food was great. Although the service as a tad slow, we were in no hurry. The lunch time crowd was not too busy. Would stop by again

Ordered coffee with milk on the side and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. My food came but they didn’t bring cutlery and I had to go inside to get some. I’d finished my food before my coffee arrived. I was given soya milk when I...asked for cows milk. This curdled my coffee. But I had waited so long I had to go anyway! I wouldn’t mind but they charge service! Shame as it’s a nice place and eggs were very good.More

In the last month or so we've been having Fruity Churros for breakfast at Nook, they are absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately the last time we were there it seems the Churros are now off the menu. What shall I do now, I'm bereft !? Hope they...have a rethink and put them back on. Their other breakfasts are also yummy, but not quite as good as the churrosMore

The food was good, service was great and perfect music choice if you like kpop 👌🏼. The grilled cheese was delicious. The only 'bad' thing is that the portions might be a tad small if you're crazy hungry. Would definitively recommend!
