Let’s just say right up front: in spite of some grumblings from the occasional reviewer, this is not a tourist trap. The food is great, the prices are right in line with other local spots in Kuching, and the service is lovely. And it’s packed with local regulars every day. Trust us, you want to get there early. The Sarawak Laksa is very good, though we had equally good versions elsewhere in Kuching. The Kolo Mee and the Popiah were outstanding. And the pork rib soup is excellent, as is their coffee. The most we spent at breakfast was RM30 (CDN $9.10), and that was for two mains, popiah and four coffees. Great value for money! Highly recommended.

This olden style Chinese coffee shop located in the heart of Kuching is famous for their Sarawak Laksa and Popiah. The Sarawak Laksa is savory and rich with spices, served with vermicelli. Not to be mistaken with curry Laksa, Sarawak Laksa’s taste is unique by its own, differentiating from any other kind of laksa found elsewhere and is dubbed the best in Malaysia

Since Anthony Bourdain said it's the best, one just has to go with the hype and try it. Unassuming and simple cafe but the laksa does pack a punch with its spices and somewhat smoky and rich taste. very appetising and you'd end up literally finishing the entire bowl to the last drop - i'd lick the bowl if i could lol. Didnt get to try the prawn mee though, but heard its also worth it. Toasts and coffee were ok but the star is definitely the laksa and the hawker price point (8RM-12RM) made it all the more delectable.

Sarawak laksa became world famous when the late Anthony Bourdain commented it was “Breakfast of the Gods” in his travel/foodie documentary. Choon Hui's is amongst the best as the ingredients are all freshly prepared. The other stalls in town are not too bad either. Get a local to recommend their preferences and give them a try too. The Kolok Mee was good too, just enough of the lard and mince meat & 'slices of char sui' (bbq pork). Went down well with a cup of 'teh-C kaw'. Never did try the 'popiah' (spring rolls) as they were closed the morning we were there. Looking at the photos posted by others, they do look good. If you are there, do order some, won't you? Bon appetite!

A great place for a local breakfast. Ordered the laksa, popiah, kaya toast and teh c peng(which is iced milk tea in English). The food is decent and delicious. The gravy of the laksa is thick and the food is made of fresh ingredients. Very crowded on weekend morning.

Great place to have sarawak style breakfast ( laksa, mee kolo, coffee, popiah) while watching the world start to get busy. However dont expect too much on the laksa. there are many better laksa in town.

I eat a lot of laksa and even ate this a long time ago in 2019 when it was good and cheap. Now its expensive, broth is THICK, STARCHY, noodles are thin and hard, barely taste any coconut milk, sambal taste weird. Still flavourful but not as unique anymore.

The star here is the Sarawak Laksa and most people have raved about it so I will not add so much to that. This cafe obviously looks nothing out of the ordinary but it is so good we went back again and again. The coffee was better than the other similar named cafe but the teh-c and 3-layer tea was good also. The kaya toast was nice. The kolo mee was just as fantastic as the laksa so don't ignore that. The counter does sell some other local snacks like peanut biscuits and rice crisps. They do sell out fast so you might not have any left depending on the day.

Kuching is famous for laksa and kolo mee, and when asked for recommendations, this was the place that was highly recommended. The laksa was amazing, and tasted really rich with its slightly sour but addictive flavour. The kolo mee was good too, and had lots of ingredients which made every bite different, and the ingredients all matched the texture of the kolo mee. If I have the chance, I would definitely come by again.

I went just before 7am, ordered kolo mee because the laksa stall wasn't ready. The kolo mee was soso. The laksa stall took time to set up, but my order finally came, it was well presented. The flavour was good, but the gravy was not top choice; there were 3x prawns and 5-6 strips of chicken meat. At medium size, does it seemed expensive at RM9? Do not order coffee.

This coffee shop serves drinks and bread toast. The other stalls serve laksa, kolo mee and popiah. Every time whenever I am in Kuching, must eat laksa & popiah at this coffee shop, very tasty.
