Worth a visit (or two) for their superb Gula Apong coffee (both the hot & cold latte varieties were enjoyed). This so yummy coffee is accompanied by a small but delightfully well executed chocolate cookie (they’re so good we bought a bag to take on...the road). Highly recommended.More

When you need a good cup of coffee made from fresh beans and by people who love and care about coffee, this is a place to visit. The house blend is a mix of Robusta and Sarawakian Liberica. You can ask them for single-origin Liberica...only. You'd be able to get the smoky notes, some spice, and dark chocolate. I do think the beans are roasted a tad too dark and a lovely medium-roasted Liberica would be nice.More

This is my final spot before departing Kuching. I heard that Black Bean serves the best coffee in Kuching. The shop itself is quite small, and could accommodate up to 12 guests. This explains why each guest is only allowed to sit in for up...to one hour. A cup of Americano made from local beans is RM7. I took the Kenya blend which costs RM8. In retrospect, I feel regretful for losing the opportunity to try out Sarawak homegrown coffee. Hope to visit Kuching again!More

The best coffee in all of Kuching, recommended by locals and as a tourist it was superb. The taste was amazing each time we went and the service is always so friendly and welcoming. We kept going back each day - highly recommend!

Very nice local people who offer a great selection of good quality coffee. I had the coffee mocha, which is coffee with cacao. Really tasty. They offer coffee from high-quality beans, which is not on offer everywhere in Asia. Everybody was super friendly. Definitely worth...walking a few blocks to drink here instead of one of the touristy places. Still very close to the main promenade.More

Go for a nice and inexpensive cup of coffee here. Sitting inside has a limit of 1 hour but there are small sitting areas outside too. Must visit

Pretty hard to get a great cappuccino or flat white in Kuching (Starbucks are everywhere !) so this is a nice spot in old China town ) . Everything is a short distance from each other in Kuching so nice to stop for a break....Limited seating inside - a few tables in shade on sidewalkMore

Coffee(black bean),during morning breakfast hours; people like to make a cup order either hot or cold one. The well-roasted beans and by professional espresso machine in this cafe shop surely got consumers' attraction.

A small little coffee shop serving home roasted local coffee beans. Had a lovely cappuccino and my wife a iced green jasmine tea which was good. Great selection of beans and bought a a bag of Liberica beans (vacuum sealed on the spot, can grind...as well). For those foreigners, please do respect the local ways of working and don’t compare too much with the international coffee shop chains - it’s unfair.More

Friendly vibe, nice local coffee drinks, not cheap though. It was busy but we didn't feel rushed, in fact a local couple invited us to join them, and we chatted for about an hour. There are plenty of places to get coffee but I'd go...back to this one for sure.More

This small cafe serves coffee and tea, and small biscuits. The local coffee has a dark roast. I bought two mineral water bottles. When I asked for ice, the cubes were provided in ceramic coffee cups. Both bottles of water had loose caps. There was...no other water available. The location on Carpenter Street ensures lots of footfall. I found it odd that three different people serving coffee there were abrupt and unfriendly, and not a single person returned my smile. Most other coffee shops and bars on Carpenter Street make you feel welcome, but Black Bean does not.More

We went for a takeaway of 3 cups of coffee today. As the drink was hot, we asked for a cup outer-sheath, which is commonly provided by other vandors. The owner instead gave a thin plastic bag holder, which obviously was not enough to block...the heat. We requested for something more suitable. She said that it was our own business that the coffee was too hot and would not provide anything else, even a serviette. We already paid an extra RM1.00 for the takeaway cup and would charge us additional RM1.00 for an added empty cup. We were left there, stunned in disbelief at the kind of bad and arrogant attitude we received.More
