Came here for lunch as dinner required reservations as it’s normally fully booked. Reason being there are only 6 tables for dining in. Never been on SS22 of these side as it’s housing area with a row of shoplots. So it’s a homely family nyonya restaurant for more than 30 years as the owner’s saying. Food was good, oomph with spices and herb but portion was really small for the price that we had paid. We had :- Perut Ikan @ RM30 Nasi Ulam @ RM20 Kerabu Assam Lady’s Finger @ RM 30 Sambal Sotong @ RM 40 2 lemon grass ginger tea @ RM 8 Total lunch was @ RM140.80 To be honest I was expecting more from the price shown since all was small, but for a middle range eater like me, my lunch wasn’t full and I had to buy snacks for it. Taste was exquisite, as I love my herbs very much, just would be nice to add more for the portion. Owners was really friendly mingling around with their customers chit chatting. Truly wonderful home-cooked Penang style nyonya food that does not do any shortcut in serving their dishes to customers The winner for me would be the Sambal Sotong. Taste varies for each individual. Kerabu Lady’s Finger was good too. Definitely will be back to try out the rest of the dishes

The dishes here were unusual in that they were at once out of the ordinary yet at the same time, they reminded you of home-cooked meals from days past. The beef rendang was excellent while the Sri Nyonya fried chicken although visually normal actually tasted heavenly! The chaipor omelette was unusually good and the kerabu asam sayur paku was simply indescribable! The icecream Milo dinasaur was also excellent while the rum and raisin icecream was seriously something that I had not experienced before (not even in Italy or other European cities)…simply exquisite. The rum seems to be completely immersed with the icecream and gave the taste a completely holistic angle. And to add on a wonderful cherry on the icing, the owner of the restaurant, Ms Carol Kuok was an impeccable host and will make you feel completely at home. This little restaurant in PJ is simply OUTSTANDING and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A really wonderful and memorable experience.

It had been some years since I last dined at Sri Nyonya restaurant, and my friends and I were thrilled to find that the quality and value has been retained. Sri Nyonya has maintained their high standard for authentic Penang nyonya. Loved their food before and love it now for the way it is just bursting with robust flavours. With every dish we sampled, it was obvious that no short cuts or stinging takes place here. We will be back soon!

You need to come here if you are after delicious Penang Nyonya food. The restaurant felt like being in a friend's home. Carol was an excellent host mingling with the diners between cooking. We were there as a group of 14 to celebrate my brother's brithday. Being a large group we were fortunate to try a good selection of dishes. All were delicious but stand outs were the lamb shank, 2 types of kerabu sayur paku, gulia tumis ikan and the fried chicken. There was no corkage for the wine we brought and we were invited to help ourselves with any of the glasses from their cabinet. We had a wonderful night and will definitely be back.

The dishes used fresh ingredients and skillfully prepared into authentic and delicious dishes. We had the assam fish, Kerabu Lemak (fresh and crisp fiddlehead ferns), lamb shank, curry kapitan, Sotong Assam (so tender) and nasi ulam (outstanding). And the desert of espresso/lattes (premium beans freshly ground), and rum & raisin ice creams. It wasn't just a meal, it was a gastronomic experience us that left us deliriously satisfied and happy.

This restaurant has changed cook. Food is cooked by Indonesian who has no idea about Nyonya Food. I have never been more disappointed in my food experience. The capitan chicken was absolutely not edible. Fish curry was totally wrong. JuHuChar was absolutely “chia Bong HIA” so crudely cut and taste again wrong, I could not wait to get out and get a coffee to wash down the horrible taste in my mouth. Don’t go there unless u are looking forward to a terrible food experience

We dined at Sri Nyonya many times but our visit on Mondsy before we returned to UK was a memorable one. The food was so tasty full with spices and must say is the best Nyonya cuisine we have tasted in KL. Carol and her husband have done a remarkable job in continuing James Kwok's legacy.

I met up with some old friends for dinner at Sri Nyonya. If there was a peranakan version of omakase, Sri Nyonya gave us their own sensational version on this occasion. We left the dish selections to Sri Nyonya's chef extraordinaire, Carol Kuok. Incredibly delicious food kept coming out from the kitchen. I honestly could not tell you what we had but the food was bloody amazing. And check out Carol's crazy good liquer-based gelatos as well if you have a sweet tooth. If you want honest-to-goodness, delicious nyonya food, get yourself downb to Sri Nyonya. Can't go wrong!

The food is exceptional. I love the Nonya food and go there each time I visit Malaysia. I loved the pomfret, Kerabu and of course, gula Melaka.

It is not easy to find good Penang style Nyonya food in PJ/ KL and I was glad to be able to discover please. I had a group with diverse tastebuds and some food restriction. In addition, due to my dad’s condition, food needed to be served quickly upon us arriving. Teik was patient with me and made good recommendations. I gave him a complicated menu with differing portion sizes for each dish. He was brilliant in managing this and we polished off most dishes. Highlights were: - Nasi ulam: uncommon dish in restaurants these days due to amount of prep work needed. First time for most diners at the table and they liked it. - Choon pneah: crispy on the outside, generously filled with crunchy jicama and other fillings inside. Went really well with the sambal that was served with it. - Kerabu kacang botol: I dislike kerabu but went for seconds for this. The four angled beans were fresh and seasoned perfectly. Went well with the nasi ulam - Gulai ikan: didn’t get to try this but my guests ate it all quickly! Please save room for the star of the night. The ice creams! We ordered vanilla, rum & raisin and Bailey’s. Servings were generous but not a drop of ice cream was left. Worth the admission price and will be back again!

There is absolutely NOTHING authentic in this restaurant. All the dishes I had ordered were SWEET !! Sugar must be free. The Curry Kapitan (a savoury dish) resembled a Rendang dish, gravy was thick as in a Rendang dish and SWEET (!!!???), the chicken meat was HARD & TOUGH!! I am too upset at this point to even go into further disappointing details on the other dishes we ordered. In addition - to charge such exorbitant pricing for this low standard cooking is indeed a SIN!! I most certainly won't recommend this restaurant to anyone !!

With a group of 10 diners, we enjoyed a dazzling array of dishes, each highly memorable. The ones that really stood out Kerabu Lemak Sayur Paku - rarely found fiddlehead ferns, lightly blanched and tossed in savory dressing Lamb shank rendang - an entire shank, lovingly simmered in thick curry. There was even bone marrow to slurp up at the end! Sotong Assam - tender squid, stirfried in a lightly spicy-sour sauce Ju Hu Char - another rarely found dish of turnip with cuttlefish and prawns. Nasi ulam - classic rice dish with veggies and herbs mixed in. Worth giving up any no-carb efforts! Ikan gulai tumis - delicate fleshed fish, in a spicy gravy
