Just checked their website and they seemed to have changed their menu! Seems like what I had was a mixture of their old menu and the new one. Snacks (Choy Sum Nori, Beef Tendons, Mango Curry, Yoghurt and Roselle): Choy Sum Nori was quite cool and memorable! The others were ... interesting? Could be too weird for some. Starters (Blue... When we watched John Torode's Malaysia programme back in the UK , he showed this place and so we booked it for our last night in KL. I have to admit as it got closer I got concerned that we had made a mistake. No malaysian we spoke to in KL had heard of the place and it soon became... More

I have mistaken the this restaurant with another similar restaurant in Cyberjaya Malaysia. Please do disregard the other restaurant I wrote a review on Al Diwan. The review for this restaurant is great as mentioned the Masterchef Australia judges should try this place of marrying local ingredients to western flavour. Great degustation menu . Great place to visit.

My children organized a birthday dinner for me at the Dekawan restaurant located at the KDU campus in Glenmarie. A real fine dinning with special attention to details as every course is explained before we eat. A quiet and nice place. We enjoyed our dinner and had a good family gathering.

"The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply" - Kahlil Gibran. This perfectly sums up what Darren Teoh and his team at Dewakan are doing. I profess guilty to being surrounded with these wonderful ingredients and yet be clueless as to their potential. Darren is taking these humble ingredients, injecting playful creativity and reintroducing them... More

The restaurant serves a degustation menu and you can only choose between a 10 course (RM240) or 5 course (RM180) meal. The service and meal presentations are excellent and the food is generally of a high standard. The restaurant is also very generous giving 4 free appetizers and a free dessert so we ended up having a 15 course meal.... More

The 10 course dinner menu is well-crafted and each course successfully tickled different areas of our taste buds. The meal starts with 4 complimentary snacks, followed by 3 appetizers, 4 main courses, 3 desserts & ends with Malaysian-flavored ice pops. These are served over a 3-hour period, which is good timing for me personally - lots of time for good,... More

My family surprised me with a birthday dinner. Initially I didn't want to go because its so far away from where we stay. Dewakan opens only for dinner and had its location inside a university college, which didn't make me think that it could be good. The roads leading towards it is really dark and it was raining. When we... More

Description
Dewakan is a name from two Malay words. "Dewa", the Malay word for god and "Makan" which means to eat or just simply; food. To us Dewakan means food from God, and as a restaurant we want to honour the bounty and the blessing given to our land. We want to connect the ingredients from our seas, farms, mountains and jungles to a canvas that is our plate in the most interesting way we know how.
