We really enjoyed our evening here, food was good value and loved the German influence. The menu was in both German and English. The boys were excited about "The Boot" of beer but never got round to ordering it. Plenty of choice of the menu including Burgers, Bratwurst, game meat etc. The waitress we had was very friendly and we... More

Good service and amongst a very busy dinner seating, we were helped almost immediately and able to be seated and have a nice welcome drink. Our food was good - nothing too special but tasty, hot, well presented. The eisbein I had was juicy and tasty and much appreciated. My friends from overseas enjoyed their evening out and their meals.

In a country reknowned for friendly people and good service, here we experienced neither. The barmaid was clearly impatient as we decided what beer to choose. While the Erdinger Dunkel was quite good, we ordered food, which was average at best. Go elsewhere.

This is a real German cum African experience. Our company of 4 had different dishes: pork knuckles, pork scnitzel, Gemsbok ghoulash and pork belly. Very tasty. Service excellent. Booking advised as it was full on the Wednesday evening and we were lucky to get a table as one group dined early. A variety of dessert is offered. We took our... More

Fantastic atmosphere any time of the day. Very casual. Food is superb and the waiting staff are really amazing. A trip to Swakop is not complete without a visit to Brauhaus, in the centre of town.

A good variety of dishes on the menu, I had the sole, which was excellent but some of my friends had the eisbein which is their signature dish, and all of them complained tht it was tough. The service was slow and our waitress not very friendly, maybe she is overworked. Wine is expensive, but the beer is cold!!

On arrival we were greted by the host and asked if there was a table for our group. She rudely stare that if we had not booked then we could not be seated. After finally getting a table she then told us this was not her area but she could do us a favour and get us drinks if we... More

It seems that the Brauhaus is getting complacent after all these years and the quality of the food and the German "gemutlichkeit"is not the same that we experienced over the years. The service is good and cheerful but we missed the typical German atmosphere. We also reserved a specific table beforehand that was not reserved as promised and preference was... More

Going for German Beer and German "Gemütlichkeit", ok that's the place you may want to go. Looking for a typical (German) Meal? Well you may be disappointed as the quality of the food we had was below average. I had pork with Semmelknödel (Bread dumplings) and red cabbage. The red cabbage was ok, the pork acceptable, however the accompanying sauce... More
