I would recommend this restaurant to get the most authentic Greek Cuisine in Astoria. The food is always good and service is too.

Family meal and we all ordered something different. Complimentary bread and oil/herb spread great! Very crowded as expected during Christmas season but service was good and food really good. Complimentary small dessert plate. Will go again! Staff was very upbeat despite the crowd, recommend reservations if after 7

I LOVED THIS GREEK CASUAL REASONABLY PRICED RESTAURANT NEAR THE SUBWAY IN ASTORIA SERVICE HUGE PORTIONS. Will return. I am not a fish or seafood person and prefer the more traditional Greek dishes which explains why I did not go to Taverna Kyclades. Two Greek pastry shops recommended Stamatis for traditional Greek food. I also lived in Greece two years... More

The reason to come here is that the food is delicious. The menu is simple with no frills. No lunch specials, no combination platters. We had lamb souvlaki and spanakopita and a Greek salad. It took a while to arrive (we were warned) because the souvlaki was made from scratch. Very tender and perfectly seasoned. The spanakopita was about the... More

the restaurant is not too far away from the train station; the food is really good; nice atmosphere, not too loud, great for family, friends or a romantic night out

Good selections of Greek food. Reasonable priced and large portions. Very friendly staff. If you have a big group Stamatis is a good place to go.

Nice menu, great food and good service. Acoustics were not pleasant in the room we were in (back). We were with a group and everyone was happy!

Having found myself in Queens at lunch time, I check TA's site for Greek fish restaurants in Astoria and find out this is the second best in the opinion of TA contributors. So, I decide to give it a try. For the hundredth time, I wish people would stop equating cheap with good. Prices are low, that's true. Service was... More

Entrees were large, we shared two orders for 3 adults. We were given dessert which was delicious. We were just visiting this area & I highly recommend this restaurant. Reasonable prices too!
