We had this restaurant recommended to us. It was reasonably priced. Nice food and great vodka. The staff were helpful and pleasant and there was a couple playing Russian music. The restaurant was a bit difficult to find for non Russian speaking. It is underground but decorated simply but pleasingly so. It had English menus too. We would recommend this... More

Kitezh is about 3 blocks from the Bolshoi Theater up Petrovka Street. You might find it a little bit difficult to locate at first, but it’s worth the effort. The addresses in the area are a little confusing, in part because one nearby restaurant has a number on the door that is NOT the address. This one is a little... More

I had dinner on my own on a quiet Sunday night and was pleased with the service. The food was tasty and an effort went into the presentation too. A bit on the pricy end for Moscow but nothing shocking.

Nice restaurant, very good service, fair prices, relaxed and calm atmosphere, good food (although the portions are a bit too small). A great address in Moscow

I hate people who just complain for the complaints sake, but I can assure you I travel often and I seldom give bad character to hotels or etablissements like restaurants and so on. But Kitezh in Moscow gave me the worst food I've ever eaten in the whole world! We had beef with vegetables and beef stroganoff. The beef tasted... More

Lovely establishment, a little off the main road, behind a plain wooden door (it takes a little to find). I was there with a group of colleagues and all the food we had was excellent. Service was nice, and the personnel very friendly. I had a beef stroganoff which I really enjoyed, and a glass of their beer which was... More

I only had a light lunch at this charming restaurant. Pancakes with salmon caviar was delicious, although probably something easy enough to whip up.The borscht soup tasted nice and fresh. I enjoyed the simplicity of the food and the traditional Russian menu. Would have happily come again to sample more dishes. As it was a nice sunny day, I chose... More

We were very tired at the end of our 3rd day in Moscow and looked for a restaurant which is very near to our hotel. At the end, we have decided on Kitezh Grad. Actually, the food was good and the staff was very helpful and friendly, but we did not like the ambiance. It was nearly empty, maybe that... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
