I just loved it here. Felt like we'd been spirited away to another time. The food was very good and there was an inmpressive range. The menus are books with each course a 'chapter'. Loved it!

This restaurant (that you need to reserve in high season) has a nice vibe. It has a Russian feeling and friendly staff (including English menu). We had an early shift, so missed the pianist, but enjoyed the setting (a bit formal). The menu is quite...More

A quirky restaurant that transports you to grandmas dining room. Wonderful service, each table has a little bell to attract your waitress. Staff are well versed in English and a pianist brings Tchaikovsky to the room. Honest Russian dishes, the borscht a classic.

Reservation is necessary to find a table in this always fully booked restaurant. The staff and waitresses are dressed in old, traditional 1800 russian clothes. The furniture, the interiors are elegant and like 1800 style. A lot of care is devoted to details. For instance,...More

We visited gogol last night for a special dinner. We were promptly seated, given menus and told to ring the bell when we were ready to order. We rang the bell 3 times...still no service! On catching a waiters eye I informed him we were...More

Homely Russian meals. The historic house with several dining rooms to choose from. Attentive English-speaking staff. Live piano music.
