I was expecting an authentic cosy place but encountered dirty/torn/stained carpet and run down furniture. Run down furniture could be OK and even romantic aside from the fact that tables were not well cleaned and the carpet was simply filthy. The service was poor quality - not fiendly (not rude either), dirty dishes not removed, one waitress speaking loudly to... More

It was our first restaurant in st Petersburg and we don't know at all the traditional Russian food. The waitress was perfect with us and recommand us our complete dinner.. we were perfectly happy about her suggestions (vodka, red caviar, stroganoff beef and salmon). That was a perfect beginning to start our trip in Saint Petersburg!!!! Spaciba Bolchoï !!!!

It is a well known eatery in the city so we decided to give it a try. Excellent service and very good food. Bit odd getting vodka with early brunch but when in Rome....... My stroganoff was very good and my wife's salmon great. Service is speedy and very efficient. The borch soup is not quite what I have been used,... More

Recommended to us by our guide this cosy little restaurant is near the Yusopov Palace. Divided into small areas/rooms it offers cosy and semi-private dining. Decor was pretty and spotlessly clean everywhere. Menu was translated into English, waitress helped with further explanations of local dishes and wines. Food was hot and tasty, wine was cold and good quality. Service was... More

The staff is very friendly and speaks English. The food was good, but I found the portion too small. The prices are medium range to quite expensive for Saint Petersburg. Nice 'old Russian' atmosphere. Free wodka shot!

I asked for information and I got a detailed explanation of the difference between each dish and wine from Darina, a sweet and professional waitress that loves her job and do it with passion with a nice smile. Thank you Darina for advising us on the wine, we really appreciated the local wine you suggested. The decoration is cosy and... More

We walked from the Pushka Inn to the Morinksy Theater and stopped here on the way back for dinner per a recommendation from our tour guide. We were not disappointed. I had the stroganoff being in Russia, and my husband had the shrimp. Complete with chilled vodka and mulled wine for dessert, it was a fabulous dinner.

Excellent value for money, very helpful staff who were more than happy to assist with food choices and the food was delicious. More than happy to recommend.

This restaurant was one of Dostojewski's favourites. I can understand it because of the location and the ambiance, which is cosy and historic with its vaulted ceilings, but the food was disappointing. So go for a drink, but eat elsewhere.
