Opposite the Waterfall hotel beside the lake. Formerly named Congee City. More rustic than slick but the food's ok and the nplace is open 'til late, which is unusual especially in this part of Guilin. It'sa useful address, I think. DW

This is a large restaurant right at the heart of Guilin. Its Chinese name is "Guilin Congee City' so congee is undoubtedly the signature. The eel congee is mild and tasty. Fish casserole, recommended by locals, is savory and aromatic. Price is very cheap even by Chinese standard. Worth a try when in Guangxi.

As English visitors we were most welcome. Picked food using pictures. Great selection of food and staff very friendly. Highly recommend.

We dined here twice and enjoyed ood food promptly served in a spacious and clean environment. The restaurant is close to the river and conveniently near to the departure point for cruises.

Good food. Very Fast service. A lot of good food to choose. If you dont like spicy tell several times that food shooul be not spicy at all.

This is a very popular resaurant for a local people and for tourists too, positioned in the centre of Guiline opposite the embarkment place for cruise in the city's river. The menu is big and the food is different

The duck was as good as I remember. The small portion is actually large enough for four people. We tried the ginger chicken which had such a good flavor but many bones to dig thru. My favorite new dish here was the candy taro balls, everyone should follow with this dish, especially if you have children.

The food was was excellent as well of the service. Our guide chose a beef stir fry which had a flame to keep it hot, i think it was some sort of crumbed beef with chilli powder on the side to dip in and some sort of sweat root to eat with it. the meal was very lovely.

My wife and I broke away from our tour for dinner here. The hostess spoke enough English to seat us, but no one else did. The menu has pictures and English names for each dish. The waitress pantomimed information for us. The duck was spicy and the noodles with pork was large. We ordered both and they were delicious. The total bill was less than 150 rmb. Very fun and reasonable dinner.

Perhaps I expect more service than what is the acceptable custom in China. The food was very very good, but once ordered, no one ever checks in on you.
This restaurant came highly recommended by a local person. It is nice and clean, very well located by lovely night walks plus the market street.
Around the corner at 8:30 is a water show.

I'm ok with wasting money. One works to achieve things in life and enjoy, and it comes at a cost. But this dinner was so not tasty that it made us feel so disappointed.
We have been eating in China for 10 days already and we asked for dishes we knew.
The chicken Kun Pao was swimming in gravy and was neutral at its best. The beef with pepper and tomatoes tasted like a tomato soup made of paste, and looked quite like it. The fried dumplings were with vegetables, although i was told it is pork. Only the fried cauliflower was good. A pity we chose to eat here, based on TripAdvisor.

Came here with my wife as we had been recommended this restaurant by a local and it didn’t disappoint!
We ordered the roast duck, fried dumplings and the egg fried rice with beef bowl (which was HUGE)! And it all tasted absolutely amazing! We were highly impressed by the portions size of the rice and the taste and the duck was delicious! The staff are very friendly too despite the language barrier. The food dishes did all arrive at different times but in a way it suited us well like that! Highly recommend!!

The food was good and the menu had a lot of choices. The staff yell at each other across the room so do not go excepting to have a quiet meal. We had tasty dishes and tried the Giulin rice (glass) noodles and they were good.

Stayed at the Waterfall hotel next door and had dinner a few times.
Despite nobody being able to speak English (or us Chinese) the staff was friendly, the food great and priced well.
Menu had pictures with English text so this made it easy for us.

We had the small portion of roast duck and it was quiet large and so good. The squid was also very good served with bell peppers. But the fried dumpling where probably the best we have had in a long time.
I really recommend eatting here, we stopped because at 2pm it was still packed with locals. So we knew the food had to be good and it truly exseeded our expectation.

Lots of choice on their menu. I ordered 1/2 chicken and a bowl of seafood congee - very delicious and good for the price charged. Staff was friendly and efficient.
