Best Indian in China

We’ve been living in China for years and were able to travel around the Christmas period. Upon arriving in Guilin and checking out recommended restaurants, we were all very excited to hear there was a highly rated Indian restaurant about so instantly put that into our plans. Greeted by very warm waitresses, we speak Chinese and they spoke some English so we used a comfortable mixture of the two, but they were very helpful throughout. The menu was extensive which made us very excited - in the end we four ordered popadoms, both vegetable and onion pakoras, chicken tandoori wraps, lamb rogan josh x2, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, aloo gobi, garlic naan and basmati rice. Everything was delicious, great portion sizes and incredible value for money! Our favourite was the lamb rogan josh and aloo gobi - the lamb was so beautifully tender and they were both so flavourful! In total, along with 2 beers each, the bill was ¥580ish and we all left very full and very happy. I’ve been to a few Indian restaurants around China, including Beijing, Shanghai and Xi’an and this has beaten them all!

Excellent Indian cuisine with a wide variety of delicious dishes.

We ate at Kali Merch twice during a 5-day stay because their menu offers so many choices. We had not eaten chat for many years, and it was excellent, as were the Chicken Vindaloo, naan, samosas, and paratha. Service was friendly and helpful, and the masks, statues, and vivid paintings all helped to create a lovely ambience.

Great Indian Food in Guilin

We were impressed with the quality, freshness and flavour of the food. Items here are more fairly priced than other Indian restaurants we have been to in China and they have many good options. The chicken tikka is the star here. We also tried the paneer rolls, garlic naan, sweet/salty lemon drink, Indian chai masala and a really good chicken curry that we can't remember the name of! The restaurant itself is in a pedestrian street in a quieter area. It is a very welcome dinner after a long day of walking.

Great Indian fare in Guilin

Tikka Masala, curries and plenty of other dishes were all delicious, the meat tender and staff attentive. Nice interior as well and walking distance to Sheraton with plenty of other restaurants nearby. Frequented by expats and locals alike and actually teh only place during our Guilin trip where we saw other foreigners. Went twice because we loved the food!

Good indian food

After having eaten Guilin food for few days and finding it uninspiring, we decided to eat here, and it was a very good decision. The ambience is good and reminds one of india , the picture of Hindu gods on a non vegetarian menu may be offensive to some hindus. We ordered butter chicken , dal fry , biryani and papadum. It was all delicious .

Authentic Flavour, Great Spice, Freshly Made

This restaurant has some of the most authentically crafted Indian food I have ever tasted and easily takes the top spot as the best Indian food in China. It is also the first Indian restaurant that was able to serve a real level of spice in their curries (upon special request) but still manage to pack their less spicy dishes with great flavour. Best of all, is their food tastes like it has been freshly made and doesn’t have the usual tomato-based taste of pre-made food that many restaurants fall victim to. Even the drink, a freshly made Mango Lassi was cool, refreshing and delicious Incredibly, it also was one of the most affordable Indian restaurants I’ve been to in China, making it a great value proposition. We will definitely be returning there before we leave Guilin and I recommend you to grab a couple of friends to come with you so you can try as many things on the menu as possible.

Best Indian food in China

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food then this restaurant is a must try. We asked for spicy and they delivered the heat. We ordered the lamb rogan josh and the tikka masala with garlic naan and it did not disappoint. It’s cooked fresh (without tomato paste) - something that’s sometimes a rare offering. It definitely is the best the best Indian food that I’ve eaten in China. Thanks for the great meal, great service and warm greetings.

The best Indian food

This restaurant is a must when visiting Guilin. The service is excellent , the food is absolutely amazing. It is so fresh and full of flavour , so much better then the Guilin style food. The price is also very good.

Excellent restaurant. We ordered two types of chicken, lentil rice and mushrooms with spinach and naan. In addition 4 types of drinks including beer was very excellent. Very kind, excellent price 270 yuan for four people

Delicious food, english speaking staffing and menu

Delicious food, we eat shrimps masala with coriander rise with tradicional bread. Everything is done on-time quickly and spicy as you like… The wines have an affordable price, not usually in China. I love rise and the rise was really outstanding! In india i did not eat better!

Very authentic delicious south Asia cuisine.

I came here to eat alone just now, and i’m the only customer in this restaurant. Food here is amazing and authentic, ordered masala chicken, ordinary naan, samosa and Indian milk teh, all of them are delicious. Now China is open for tourists and i hope the business here will getting better, because we couldn’t afford losing this unique and incredible restaurant in Guilin city.

Amazing

Fantastic dinner and friendly service. I heard from a few friends that this was a restaurant to check out when visiting Guilin and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed the chan chaat, chicken tikka masala, zeera rice, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. I will 100% come back to this place the next time I'm in Guilin, and will be recommending it to others. Great fresh food

Whilst in Guilin, i hate to admit it but we came back here 3 times! The starters Chaats were amazing and to be able to have Tandoori roti’s, just divine after 3 weeks of travelling. Literally on the door step as soon you step out of the Sheraton Hotel. On the edge of the evening market

Yummy Indian Food .... Great customer service

This was a wonderful surprise as the food was tasty, yummy, delicious. and flavorful. We had samosas, tasty naans, Aloo gobi muttar and other terrific entrees. My wife had a mango lassi and I had a draught beer.

Wonderful dinner!

Great place! Very tasty food and friendly service. We were in Guilin for 3 days and went to dinner here all 3 evenings. The only thing is that the restaurant’s location on the map is unclear; it took a long time to find it the first time.
