I have had the cookbook of this place for over 10 years and am fascinated with Kaiseki cuisine. This is also the place I proposed to my partner so this meal meant a lot to me to say the least. The food, decor and service were fabulous. I would have liked to meet the chef however I believe he was... More

One of the few michelin star restaurants in Japan where you can book directly online. The entrance was a little bit hard to find, but once you are there enjoy from the high service level of the restaurant. We received our dinner in a private room where a lovely lady dressed in a kimono explained to us each course of... More

For a very sophisticated occasion, expensive and worth every Yen. Eleven courses made up an excellent menu based on what is available. Lots of fish, root vegetables, etc. in Dec. Though each party has its own room, palate too adult to make it suitable for children. The server for the duration of our lunch spoke English and embodied the professionalism... More

This is a great place for a three Michelin star Kaiseki experience. The food and presentation was perfect! There's also a book that is dedicated to the restaurant Kaiseki dishes which provides background on why the chef chose certain ingredients. I loved the fact that we get our own private dining room to enjoy this wonderful dining experience!!!

I was afraid it wouldn't live up to expectations, especially after having 5 other excellent Kaiseki meals prior to this, but our dinner did not disappoint! The private traditional dining rooms for each couple/group make it a very special and romantic experience, and the service is friendly and accommodating. The food was exquisite in presentation and quality. The only critique... More

One of the best meals I have had in my life and I went for lunch and got the bento! Excellent service and amazing food and flavors. When we left the head chef came to see us out and his staff got on their knees and thanked us for coming. Amazing experience! Do go!

The restaurant is in a lovely location and the service is excellent but the food is AVERAGE, at best. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Kaiseki cuisine is said to be the most refined cuisine of Japan and Kikunoi is one of its most revered shrines. The concierge of our hotel was astonished we'd managed to snag a reservation all the way from Delhi - put it down to dogged persistence. Anyhow course after incredible course arrived and was put away with due reverence -... More

We enjoyed everything including the garden view, the tranquility and the space to allow us to ponder and enjoy every single morsel of our meal. The lady who attend to us speak adequate English even though she keep apologizing for her language skill. We thoroughly appreciate the service, the environment they provide and the food. It is well worth the... More

We had a 3 hour long 20,000 yen menu and there were 13 courses. By the end of it we were full to the brim! Our favourites were the shark's fin hotpot, tuna sashimi with egg yolk sauce, radish with walnut miso. We were seated in a private room so the server checked in only at regular intervals, which seems... More
