We've just had lunch here. The buffet is extensive with lots of variety and fresh food on offer. We really enjoyed the food which was of good quality. It is expensive though.

Le Temps is a cafe located within Hotel Granvia at Kyoto Station. i have eaten there a number of times on different trips. It was a particularly good choice on our current trip as the menu was varied enabled each member of the family to choose a style of cuisine that met their preferences when we couldn't agree on a... Lovely piece of chocolate cake and black iced coffee. The cake was very good and the coffee superb. We need to fill some time at the train station and desert in the middle of the day was a perfect solution.

This is a very reasonably priced restaurant. They have an evening buffet some evenings and it's a great opportunity to try new dishes from conger eel to sea urchin! Lots of western dishes keep the less adventuress happy. Breakfast is a good addition if you;re staying at the hotel.

Le Temps is one of the few restaurant that have Halal food served. The Halal menu is very limited, but it is delicious and suitable for whole family. Their Halal burger is huge, and one can serve two kids. NOTICE: you must make a reservation in order to enjoy you time here, and get the Halal menu.

I had gone for a late night coffee and dessert to this restaurant years ago and remembered it when I came back for a recent trip to Kyoto. We had the breakfast buffet - they had a nice selection of Japanese and Western foods (including several varieties of cereal, which surprised me.) It was fairly busy and bustling and lots... More

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Le Temps several mornings during our recent time in Kyoto, as it is conveniently located in the Hotel Granvia where we stayed. The range of offerings, from Western standbys such as omelets and croissants to Japanese breakfast foods was enormous, including a wide variety of hot items, breads, cereals, fruit, and beverages. The coffee machine... More

If staff would be more effective. Needed to queue up for 10 Minutes because they did not find the at least free five tables I was spotting. It is the restaurant of the Hotel Granvia within the Kyoto JR station. Excellent Buffet style with Western and Asian viarities. Very good choices. Great omelettes. Business hotel. Little ambiance.

For about $25 per person (less than that if you get it as part of your rate), you get the best breakfast buffet in Asia. Combination of Western and Japanese food including made-to-order omelets, bacon, ham, toast, about six different fruit juices and four different teas, coffee, pickled vegetables, curried vegetables, rice, potatoes, miso butter, steamed dumplings, salad bar, pancakes,... Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
