We walked around Zenkoji looking for a cafe, and stumbled across this cozy little restaurant run by two very nice folks. The latte and cheesecake was simply amazing. The gelato is also a must-try. It is very different and unique compared to other gelato because the flavor is very rich and original. 11/10 would visit again. :)

We didn't come to Japan for coffee and gelato but after 3 weeks of tea and sushi we stumbled upon this gem. The best coffee we have had in Japan and much better than most we have had at home. The gelato was world class as Matt the owner went to Italy to get the best recipes. If you are... More

The aussie owner brought in the favour of real coffee and made his own gelato with local ingredients! If you're in Nagano and missing some real good coffee, this is the place to go! Also try the apple gelato, it's full of rich favour of apple. You can definitely feel the passion of the coffee and gelato from the owner... More

Walking back from a 2 hour visit around Zenkoji Temple. An icy wind, 8 degrees celsius. The sun was low. We felt we could kill for something hot. We came across this small cafe that had a sign indicating that it is suitable for coffee snobs. Well, that was a challenge indeed. We're from Melbourne, a city with a legion... More

An Aussie guy and his Japanese wife run this wonderful little cafe just down from the Zenkoji temple. Matt makes all his own gelato from local farmers' fruit (eg raspberry), just delicious, and we also loved the miso caramel one...and the triple chocolate! Really good proper coffee too, homemade cakes and I think they do soups etc over the cooler... More
