Not a big fan of this location...the food is just ok. Service was fair. The oyster stew was bland, most everything else was fried. There was really nothing to write home about.

We wanted some good seafood and it was close by. The business was very busy at but we did not have to wait long for a table. Our waiter took good care of us and brought us fresh seafood that was delicious. It's a great family place to go.

During a recent business trip, my coworkers and I went to eat here. I really enjoyed the seafood and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The service was good and all of us highly recommend this place.

We all went out for dinner and the restaurant was very busy. We finally got a table and was waited on right away. The fish and shrimp was very good ! You get a endless amount of hush puppies and honey butter too ! We can't wait to go back !

we love this place! The seafood is the best in the area, large portions and friendly service. They have a couple of meeting rooms and they have take out too.

This is the sort of restaurant that usually, only locals know. It is not open all week, just Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You cannot get much better seafood at super prices anywhere else. Honest. And you will always find the parking lot with plenty of cars....but they seat people rather quickly! Go there or lose!

Good service - food was so so. Remember eating at the "fish camps" as a kid - it was certainly very exotic back in the day. Nowadays, I think it is reasonable to expect variety and quality for a hard earned dollar. Food was OK - shrimp were seapak style so certainly a step or so down from what one... More

While the outside of Jay's Downtowner Restaurant is a deterrent, the freshness of their fish is enough to overcome it. We are infrequent visitors to Albermarle so we let my elderly Uncle select the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the freshness and excellent taste of the broiled flounder, the crunchiness of the cole slaw and the nice baked potato.... More
