Came here to celebrate My bday and was Utterly spoilt by the excruciatingly slow service. 1hr 40mins for our tomahawk to arrive when everyone else who ordered pasta and rib eyes had already finished with easily 30-45mins to spare. Will NOT return!More

A hidden gem in Mont Kiara I saw a post on this particular western restaurant on social media and that prompted me to search further information. I did not even realise there's such place existed in Mont Kiara - not that I am always in...this area la - so I proceed to call and make a booking for dinner. Smart move because they were full house on that day. Little did I know that it's very popular with the locals and outsiders alike. The ever friendly person-in-charge informed me that they were actually a part of Jake's Charbroiled Steak (Damansara Heights) so it means that steak is their forte. Unfortunately I don't eat beef so I'd to settle for something else. ◾Complimentary bread and butter - something to keep the kids from complaining while waiting for the orders to be served. ◾Kids meal - nugget and fries ◾Freshly flown shucked oysters - true enough, I could still taste the brine and the oysters were very fresh. Squeezed some lemon and slurped everything in just like that. ◾Onion rings - although competently prepared, I was hoping for more portion for the price I paid. ◾Pizza Margherita - thin and crispy crust generously topped with tomato sauce and cheese and topped with fresh basil in the end, the small ones love it. ◾smoked duck breast with orange glaze - I lost words on how to describe this dish. It was not bad by standard, but the smoked duck tasted generic and the orange glaze tasted different. Both of us didn't know how to appreciate it. ◾grilled fillet of fish with almond butter - the saving grace for the evening. The fillet was cooked just right resulting in flaky texture and the almond butter complimented the fish perfectly. Was it great? Probably not.. but overall the atmosphere was good, service was good and the food could actually do better. They should do better with the steak but unfortunately I do not eat beef. A bottle of good wine always do the trick and in this case, a 1er Cru burgundy. Price-wise it can be considered affordable and not those high end places.More

Visited this restaurant after quite a while. It had a small crowd of diners probably because of the current corona virus outbreak in the region. We were approached by a friendly and knowledgeable Indonesian waitress who has served this company for many years in its...different locations in KL. My wife placed an order for Mango Juice but received an Orange Juice instead! When this was pointed out to her, she readily apologised and soon thereafter she returned with the correct juice. I ordered a Tiger Beer ( draught ) and it came nice and properly chilled. My wife chose for her main dish Rainbow Trout and I opted for one of my favourites at this place i.e. Black Angus Striploin ( Medium ). I really enjoyed my steak because it was done as I had specified and it was flavourful too. I had a glass of Merlot to go with the steak. My wife found her fish quite tasteless. My dish also came with a short corn on the cob, fries and some carrots and brocoli. For desert, we shared a warm Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was delicious. We will return for another memorable dining experienceMore

This is a restaurant within a condo, linked to Jake’s from Medan Damansara, with what looks like a slightly different menu. We tried the oxtail soup, pate, pasta, salmon and the kaiser schnitzel. All good. The kaiser schnitzel was unusual in that it had a...filling of cheese with a mushroom sauce, but tasty all the same. Portions were a reasonable size. There was a very good range of steaks available which would set you back well over RM 100 each, which we didn’t try this time. Maybe next time - as it is worth a second visit.More

My wife and I decided to visit this sister restaurant of Jake's from Medan Damansara. It is located within Mont Kiara Pines condominium. It has a more modern look to it but the tables and chairs were arranged much too close to each other. In...addition, some tables were joined together.........looks like they expect big groups of diners. I thought it lacked some degree of privacy and space for patrons who wanted to dine in peace and quiet. It was a dream too far! The place was three quarters full when we arrived and people were talking and laughing loudly. The waiters and waitresses were on the job and somehow managed to cope. Service was a tad slow and we had to signal for service. The senior waiter came and took our orders. We ordered Orange Juice and a Tiger Beer for drinks. We next ordered Marinated Baby Octopus as a starter. It was a small serving but done very well well. It was also delicious. We placed our orders for the main course: Smoked Duck for the wife and Australian Ribeye for me. My wife enjoyed the dish which was of a generous portion. I too enjoyed my steak...medium well. But I still prefer the Black Angus steak for its unbeatable flavour. For dessert, we chose a Cream Brulee and a Tophen ( crepe with orange flavour, cheese and raisins). The CB was good but the T was a disappointment. Finally as far as enjoying the dining experience is concerned, we had to put up with a very noisy group of ten adults and five very young children. The parents seemed indifferent to the behaviour of the kids who were constantly screaming and running around. The parents were enjoying the wine too much because they too spoke very loudly. It was painful to have to sit through this noise and commotion. They happened to have the table next to ours. It was not at all a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. We felt like we were in a mad house!More

I’ve have two best steak in my life. One was from Paris, and the other time was here! The red juice that flows out from the tender meat, and that flavourful marinade. The other food that they offered were all very delicious as well. Ox...tail soup, ghoulash, seafood spaghetti, all yummy! Offer wide varieties of wine and alcohol as well. Can be a bit pricey since it caters to expats in that condo. One ribeye steak was around RM70.More

Good quality steaks in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Now if you are a tourist I would not bother going all the way to Mont Kiara. If you are staying in Mont Kiara then great little place within a condo development. Expect to pay Rm300-400...for two if going for steak.More
