Had my first romantic dinner with my special someone today. Luce offers a great spread of freshly made pastas that tastes fantastic. With a great ambience to accompany the food, I do not think you’ll find any place like this elsewhere in KL. However, parking is quite limited so you have to pay RM15 for valet parking or take a Grab. Would always come here when I crave for pasta!

I have visited in my life thousands of Italian restaurants during my frequent trips out of Italy.
I have found Luce Osteria Contemporanea the First time just for a case: I was walking near and I was attracted by the way where the Restaurant is located.
According to my opinion is one of the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited at least in the Asian area.
In fact it was the first time I have been served exactly the way I have asked: I know I am too much exigent for any chef but in this case Chef Cristian Grandi has completely and indisputably passed any of my request with the maximum of the professionalism and of course of my consideration.
If you live in Kuala Lumpur or if you go to Kuala Lumpur and you want to have a perfect idea of what the Italian cuisine is, you should have lunch or dinner in this Restaurant.
Besides the Restaurant is elegantly furnished.
If the stars were 10 I would have given 10 with laude.

My favourite Italian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Always a delight eating here. Authentic food, friendly service and great ambience. Price is very decent. Cozy downstairs as well as upstairs. Long list of pizzas with weekend specials by Chef Christian- a very friendly chef who interacts freely with customers.

We hit Luce on an extremely lively New Year’s Eve. Slight confusion over our reservation time meant a few minutes at the upstairs bar and complementary Prosecco by the most accommodating maitre d. Enjoyed two top class pizzas from their almost overlong list of tempting delights. Unfortunately we had to reorder our pasta dish as the kitchen had run out of truffles! And the reordered dish took a long time to come so we had to cancel as we had a party to attend. But the maitre d was happy to cancel and no charge and no argument. Most impressed with this Italian bistro as it is consistent with its quality of food. Will return on a less busy night.

The restaurant is designed to look like a quaint Italian pizzeria, lit aesthetically as the aroma of freshly made wood fire welcomes you!
What we ordered?
1. Pizza: We ordered Paola with Tomato Sauce (really authentic), Mozzarella Cheese, Spicy Salami, Black Olives, and Gorgonzola Cheese. The crust was light and airy and the the cheesy pizza melts in your mouth (not joking). We both finished a 8 piece pizza and we’re ready for some gnocchi!
2. Gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese (I ordered tiger prawn as an add on): It’s surprising how a dish with just 3 ingredients can taste sooo good! The pillowy soft gnocchi cooked in a tangy and sweet tomato sauce feels absolutely light, the cheese adds to the texture and flavour of the dish, and the tiger prawn cooked just right had absorbed the flavours of the sauce.
3. Tiramisu: hands down one of the best tiramisu that I have tasted! Perfect combo of creamy layers of coffee, mascarpone and cocoa!
4. Molten chocolate cake: This was my personal favourite! Loaadddss of chocolate ganache oozed out from the really thin layer of cake (really wonder how they perfected this!). This comes with freshly cut strawberries and biscuit!
5. Macchiato: The tiny cup holds a perfect blend of coffee and milk and is a perfect finish to a hearty meal!

Great location. Great effort. Ruined by its staff. We are normal people. Not celebs. We were greeted abruptly by an offensively toned - you need a reservation. The restaurant was empty. We were placed in a corner on the ground floor with the noise and hassle of staff arranging boxes around us with little regard for the dining experience one expects in a dining establishment. After interrogation, I learned there was a place upstairs which was more pleasant. On insistence we were offered that space. Service was by a staff with poor command of english or Bahasa and it took a number of attempts to get one’s message through. There were a total of 7 persons seated upstairs we had our lunch to the loud background music of staff arranging cutlery and shifting and arranging wine boxes. They must have concluded that we were of a pedigree not deserving of a quiet and pleasant dining experience. All in all this place sums up much that is wrong in our nation. The owners have tried hard and have put this place together - the people they have entrusted with the place have let them and us down with their attitude. I wish the owners well and trust they will stay the course.

Best Italian house in Kuala Lumpur , the food here is amazing . Big compliments to the chef. We love it here, for me personally it’s always comes down to good food and good ambiance. And this place has that ! This is an absolute gem of an authentic Italian restaurant in the centre heart of Kuala Lumpur , with some of the most welcoming, warm and friendly staff I've met. Their staff are warm , welcoming and very accommodating.
The restaurant has comfortable, relaxed, genuine feel to it, with a good variety of options on the menu and weekend specials. They also had a good selection of wines as well.
The food absolutely delicious, and we love it here. The pizza is a must here ! I felt like I’m
In Italy.
For anyone in Kuala Lumpur city do check this restaurant out, you won't regret, I honestly cannot recommend it enough.
Would go as far as saying that it is the best Italian food I've had.

1st time to LUCE and didn’t expect much BUT turn out - everything was superb. We ordered 3pizzas, 3 pastas, cold cuts & a bottle of wine and it’s such an amazing experience. Enjoy every bite. Even the wine was superb. The lasagna was nothing special. Just regular but fresh.
Service super friendly. Worth a visit if one is craving for real superb Italian food.
Only problem is there’s limited parking BUT there’s Valet parking at RM15. So it’s not so bad.
Will sure come back.

Some points below for the restaurant to further improve:
1. Cutleries were not complete.
2. We ordered risotto, ravioli and 2 pizzas. All 4 dishes were being served in one-go instead of one by one. There was insufficient space to put all these dishes on the table and we had to eat some of the remaining dishes lukewarm.
3. All 4 dishes were a little bit salty to our liking.
4. One of the pizzas was too watery and toppings were loosely put on top.
On the bright side, staff were friendly and attentive to our needs.

We returned 3 out of 4 dishes, because there was a long black hair in the risotto & pieces of pan scouring brush in the carbonara.
We had a shocking experience here last year, but returned at the invitation of the manager & had a v good experience.
But this last (and it will be the last time) visit was quite disgusting. The kitchen is clearly a dirty & poorly controlled environment.

Regarding your comments on our kitchen i respectfully disagree and you are most welcome to visit our kitchen where all our staff wear hats and uniforms therefore a black hair In the next dish seems quite unlikely as we triple checked the presentation after the first complain as you would imagine...
We are known for our standards and quality.

When I came here to dine I was already very excited due to the previous amazing reviews.
I got to say that, as an Italian travelling very often, this is a real authentic Italian restaurant. They use fresh ingredients and the menu has a wide full range of pizzas, starters and main courses.
I had gnocchi sorrentina, which I had enjoyed very much and one of their gourmet pizza, Pizza sole. This pizza is one of the best I have ever had.

We can here after a visit from kl tower. Staff is professional and the ambience is good. We ordered pasta and pork pizza.
Appetizer is nice and music is good. Between the pizza and pasta, I would say Pizza is the best! It is fresh off the oven and taste is exquisite.
The pasta was too rich for us. Our baby was very unruly and noisy during the lunch so appreciate the staff there for their patience.

If you’re a fan of Italian food, then this place is a must. The pizza was one of the best I’ve had in Malaysia and the gnocchi was fresh and delicious. The food came out promptly and the staff were warm and very accommodating. I highly recommend paying a visit to this restaurant and seeing for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Celebrating my wife birthday dinner in LUCE, from starter bruschetta , black mussel soup , main course pizza & pork tenderloin cooked with red wine. Foods just delizioso, especially pizza & pork tenderloin. staffs all very friendly & helpful. Great dining experience so far.

Good service by the staff. Serving is big with generous amounts of ingredients. Just that the road outside was a bit muddy last time when I wanted to visit with lack of parking but the road is fixed this time
