The standout of my experience was the exceptional service, particularly from my waiter, Ashton Teoh. He was amiable and attentive, ensuring my solo dining experience was comfortable by seating me at a spacious table outside as I preferred. Despite the restaurant being busy, his accommodating...nature left a lasting impression. While the traditional sauce was merely a bland soy sauce, unlike the balanced vinegar-soy mix I'm used to, it wasn't a dealbreaker. The affordability of this branch compared to other international locations was a pleasant surprise. Though the portions are small, the overall experience, enhanced by Ashton’s excellent service, makes this a go-to spot for undecided dining choices. Din Tai Fung Mid Valley continues to offer a reliable and enjoyable dining experience.More

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 Fragrant Pork with Garlic Shaoshing Wine Chicken Shrimp and Pork Shaomai I used to eat at Din Tai Fung a decade ago in my home country. I enjoyed it for the first year, but after that, the quality declined when the...Taiwanese and Singaporean chefs left and were replaced by Thai chefs. Now in Malaysia, Din Tai Fung doesn't match up to the original Taiwanese taste I remember from a decade ago. Interestingly, the waiter was amiable, but the traditional sauce served was merely bland soy sauce. Typically, international branches, like the one in Singapore, serve vinegar and soy sauce in a 60-40 ratio. In contrast, the original restaurant in Taiwan serves it in a 75-25 ratio. Here, it's just soy sauce, which I don't mind too much because taste preferences vary; I can add vinegar myself. On further inquiry, I discovered that the chefs here are not local, which, based on my previous experience, I find reassuring. Also, the service staff are very attentive and accommodating. Despite dining alone during a busy time, they kindly seated me outside as requested, remarkably at a four-person table (There were still seats available inside and no queue behind me, which made this gesture even more commendable). The portions are small, as expected, but the silver lining (and to my surprise) is that this branch in Malaysia is the most affordable compared to other international branches. The taste is passable, but considering it's hard to have a bad experience at Din Tai Fung, I think I've found a go-to place for when I'm undecided on where to eat.More

i dont know how they do it but the way the keep up with the xlb is nothing short of amazing. i have had din tai fung all across the planet and this one met the standards of its sister restaurants. the xiao long bao...was perfectly pleated and the wrapping delicate but strong enough to be picked up without bursting. service was good. i usually try their drunken chicken as a sample of a cold plate -this one was a bit dry but perfectly acceptable.More

It was a while that I did not eat at Din Tai Fung. The quality of the food in this outlet is excellent. Service is timely, waiters are good and helpful. This time I tried my favourites – in the order: Hot and sour soup,...pork and crab meat xiao long bao, jiao zi. All served nicely, in a seguence, so to enjoy them while they are still hot (or warm). They brought be, upon my asking, some delicious chilli oil to dip the jiao zi in, after mixing it with some of the vinegar left from the xiao long bao. That sauce alone was so enjoyable that while paying the check I saw that they were selling it too and I bought a jar of it. No waiting time. Delicious food. Courteous service. Need something more from a restaurant?More

Wait times are decent compared to what you get in Taipei (1 and a half hours). The portions are slightly small for the price you pay but every bite is flavourful and of particular mention is the pork, which was very well marinated and does...not have that annoying foul smell often associated with cooking pork. 5/5 will come again just for the pork chop with fried rice.More

I was here three years ago with some Malaysian Friends and decided to some back here for lunch today and afterwards to write a review for my Tripadvisor followers. This well-known Taiwanese food company is most well-known for its Xiao Long Pao or dumplings filled...with a special soup and then steamed (it could be very hot so be careful when consuming this quite delightful dish!). I also tried the also steamed Chocolate Xiao Long Pao as my dessert. Both dishes tasted really quite incredible and now i could understand why there are apparently already about 150 outlets in several countries!.More
