This a very old cafe that brings you back to the 60's feeling. However they serve awesome local food in particularly the famous nasi padang. Tasty and authentic Indo-Malay style cuisine. Pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommended!

A friend and I decided to do a lunch trip to Kuala Lumpur, she from Klang and I from across KL, and we thought to try a new "happening place" at H.S.Lee only to get there to see a snaking queue. Where to go? A...sure thing place with all the right ingredients, never disappointing and I thought of the nasi padang place at Capital at T. Abdul Rahman. I last ate there in the 1980s. Now, at the time of the pandemic, its only 2 to a table. You do not have to wait long as the lunch crowd will quietly eat their delicious fare and exit for the next person in line. The queue was snaking but a wait is between 5-8 minutes or less. Everything is good. This is a Malaysian fusion nasi padang. I was heartened to remember the faces of the women and men serving the stall. There is a sign on the glass panel displaying the array of yumms. "Older and Slower". Aren't we all? But it's like coming home. I do not need to "sell" the place. A note-a "muhibbah place" with two other stalls plus a kopi-tiam fare. Slow cooking not fast food. Selamat makan dan jaga diri dalam keadaan COVID-19. (Enjoy your meal and be safe in the time of C-19).More
We arrived in KL today and found this place on Google. It seemed to be just locals who were there which we liked. The owner was very friendly and helped us order the right amount of food. Very cheap too!
For a great taste, go there to find it out. You will never regret the visit. Out of the world and the setting there is simply awesome.
Capital has been around for a long time serving mostly Malay and Indian style of local food. It's long time establishment can mean you'll get decent fresh food.
Malay cuisine, and lots of it. We were there for lunch, it was a busy place frequented by all races. Old marble-topped tables with hard chairs. Delightful food, satay, mee hoon, rojak & great service. A halal restaurant. Not pricey.
there are lot of varitis chicken, fish, mutton, and beef. there fried meehoon, mee ,rojak. this is mama cuisen, mixture of malay and indian muslim food, good restaraunt
The satay is yummy. It's open every evening except Sunday, around 5-7 pm. Very basic coffee shop. I used to order 15 sticks take-away for 15 ringgit(A$5). More comfortable to eat inside the hotel room.
We'd see a promo video on the Capital Cafe at our hotel so first morning after a long night flight we headed to this well-know KL eatery in the Chow Kit area. Busy and noisy but we asked for recommendations on a typical breakfast and...out came the mandatory KL toast and a selection of curry and veges that certainly filled the void. This place is an institution and perfect if you want to eat where the locals eat.More
A very unique and old fashion style in the middle of jalan tuanku abdul rahman, veriety of foods can be found here, nasi padang, rojak mamak, mee rebus and goreng, combination of malay, mamak and chinese in one restaurant, taste good, rojak just cost you...about rm5 and nasi padang depends on what lauk you take, very crowded during lunch time and limited seat insideMore
