I have been coming to Prime off and on for around 10 years now or maybe more. If I have to choose one word to describe my experience there it would have to be consistency: in decor, quality and taste of the food and quality of the service especially the wait staff.
I mostly go to Prime for their western style steaks. Their steaks I have to say have been consistent in quality of the different types of beef, in the cooking and tastes of the beef, the different sauces and most definitely the sides. Delicious no complaints.
One of the best qualities of Prime besides the cooking I would have to say would be their excellent service which directly relates to their excellent wait staff. They are unobtrusive (very important to me) but are there if you needed them.
This level of service has been true since the first time I ate there, bravo. From the managers and supervisers Syafika, Alexsia and Dewi where some have assisted me even from the very beginning. Also not forgetting the other wait staff Fasiha, Latifah, Atikah and others. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Prime is already famous for its steak. That doesn't need any introduction. However, what we are amazed are the advice and consideration from staff Murul Atiqah and Dewy as my wife is pregnant and requires cooked food. Excellent service and recommendations. Do take note that discount are not available for Wagyu beef and aged beef.

This was my second visit to Prime Steakhouse at Le Meridien Hotel, KL. We were there to celebrate my birthday with family members............all six of us.
We began by having drinks at the small lounge at the entrance to the steakhouse. Pity that a fine dining restaurant these days does not have draft beer!
After about half an hour or so, we moved over to a cosy section of the restaurant where the six of us were seated in extremely comfortable high back chairs.
The wait staff, all three pleasant, friendly and courteous young ladies took care of us. They appeared knowledgeable about the menu and knew about the various wines that were available.......by the glass.
My party ordered the following starters: Lobster Bisque; Bone Marrow, Ceviche, Crab Cakes. For our mains, we ordered the following dishes: Black Angus Tenderloin; Black Angus Rib Eye; Lamb Shank; Grass Fed Ribeye; etc. We also specified how we liked the steaks to be cooked.
Then things began to unravel! One of the wait staff came to tell me that the last BA Tenderloin had been taken up by another diner! I informed her that my family came here to celebrate my birthday. Are you telling me that the birthday person has to be disappointed at a fine dining place in this unprofessional manner? If there were no more steaks then she should have informed me before I placed the order. She then decided to go back to the chef and returned shortly to inform me that I could now have my order as specified earlier.
Next when the meals were ready, the wait staff served some of the meals to the wrong persons! Two of them were sharing one big steak: one wanted his portion cooked medium and the other wanted her portion well done. However, both were well done!. One does not expect this level of clumsy service at a fine dining outlet.
Overall. the steaks were enjoyable and the ceviche was delightful. The crab cakes were, however, a BIG let down.........more bread crumbs that crab flesh. The wine, a Pinot Noir from New Zealand was excellent. The desert, Apple Strudel did not live up to the promise.

We have been to Prime at least 5 times and have always left with happy stomachs looking forward to the next visit. Sadly I cant say the same for my most recent trip.
Starter, soup and bread with assorted butter were great as usual. Kitchen management was a bit lacking this round, the soup was served before we finished our starter, and the steak came before our starter/soup were cleared from the table.
For mains we ordered the Murray Grey tenderloin and Australian Wagyu Marble 6/7 tenderloin, both medium rare. The Murray Grey was good but the Wagyu was disapponting to say unlike any of the Wagyu I have had. It was very dry, had 0 fats, wasnt juicy at all and didnt have any wagyu flavour to the extent that I seriously doubted if it was really Wagyu. The outside was slightly over-burnt (see picture) and over seasoned with salt which masked the steak's lack of flavour. Definitely enjoyed the Murray Grey alot more. Got compensated with complimentary dessert to make up for it. Our server Iffah was very attentive and had a great attitude which made our dining experience much better.
Their wine list was very limited (i recall their wine selection used to be way better). If they are indeed true to serving quality steaks, unless they can offer a good selection of wine to pair with their steaks, the expensive corkage fee is unjustified.
Despite everything else apart from the wagyu being satisfactory, we cant say we will definitely be back again if they can no longer serve good steak. 2/5 stars for the steak alone but 3/5 stars for the experience as a whole.

Good table service but steak cannot make it. Chef can’t tell the diff between rare and raw. Served us raw beef instead of med rare (see my pic). It was not evenly cooked. Sent it back and the chef insist it is med rare. Come on... The other things we had were ok - lobster bisque, crab cake, dessert. They gave us a complimentary dessert to make it up.
However I would like to point that I could not accept the fact that the chef can’t even cook a medrare beef and yet telling me it is what it is. It’s not my first time having beef, it’s raw. Honestly disappointed with the chef and I will skip Prime until there is a new chef. Will NOT go back as long as this chef is still around.
To add on, my request was a side table for privacy and when they arrived they gave me the table right at the entrance. They did change to a aide table but the point is what I said during reservation was not taken into consideration. There were plenty of private tables they didn’t allocate it to me. When I asked for the table they said it is reserved. I too, made a reservation are you indicating I did not make reservation? Honestly the whole experience was poor. Luckily the table service made it up. From reservation to chef, everything is bad. I last visited in 2014 and never came back for a reason and it reminded me why I didn’t return. It is still just as and be it food or reservation. I thought new chef will change things but it did not....

Went to Dinner with a colleague @6:30 pm 27-10-20 following the CIMB dining offer at Prime for 40pct off. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we find that most items were ineligible for the 40%
Of the items that were eligible , we got one item and all others meats on the menu that were eligible were apparently unavailable for the 1st sitting. My colleague’s choices were rejected 3 times , all of which were taken as orders and a few minutes later the lady would come back to say that the item was unavailable and we were best to chose from another special menu promoting Argentinian steaks and wines which were not on the CIMB offer.
I would have appreciated candor upfront. it almost felt like the staff were encouraged to up-sell. My 1st visit to Prime and I was very excited.
As a bonus , the staff helping us was most apologetic as she came back 3 times to tell us that our choice was unavailable and provided humour and great service throughout the evening. so a special thanks to Julie who looked after our table. Much appreciated Julie.
The overall experience was not great and a pretty sharp bill for 2 people. (705 MYR) even though we got the last steak on the CIMB offer that night. all the rest was regular price.

Had a juicy Bone Marrow for my starter, it was superb!!
For my main Black angus steak were perfectly cooked, as i like well done.. My husband wanted to ordered dry age beef but they only have a bigger cuts..
Luckily Our server IFFAH with her full knowlegde about steak and excellent servise recomend us to try a different cuts of meat Wagyu Pichana since we never tried before .. It was his first try, No regret!! Definitely will come back for this..
Slice choc moist cake for my husband birthday 👍🏻Overal the enviroment is still ok even after McO. Food was superb and well present servise we had in Prime..

My hubby and I have known about Prime for quite a while but somehow only made our way here for the very 1st time to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. The restaurant asked beforehand if we were celebrating any special occasion and when they found out, they decorated the table beforehand and gave us a complimentary dessert platter. Service was top notch from start to the end of our dinner. Food was really good, Prime lived up to its expectations of serving delicious steak cooked to perfection; a special mention on their risotto dish too...really flavorful and yummy. All in all, we had a good experience dining here and celebrating our anniversary.

Came here to celebrate my bf’s birthday and loved the services so much! At first I was a bit disappointed because we wanted to order Japanese wagyu ribeye for my boyfriend but it was sold out for that day and I asked the girl who served me if she can asked the chef if maybe they can check again, & the chef was willing to go down and take their wagyu stock but it was out of my budget since they only have 500g of wagyu. So we opted for Aus Ribeye Wagyu (Medium) and it was the best meat we have ever tasted. The first time it went into my mouth, I can instantly felt the meat melted like it was butter and every experience just felt out of the world. Taking a small bite, I can still taste the full flavourness of the meat. and the truffle sauce also a great match to the steak. The other meal we had is lamb shank, it was a perfect cuisine w the sauce but the main focus is our wagyu. I really hope one day we are able to taste the Japanese Wagyu! 💞 Special thanks to Anila, Mel, Emma & Hien for the great services. Thank you for singing my boyfriend’s birthday 🥰 I forgot to ask the guy who served us, he was prolly the person who was in charged for the restaurant that night, but he was so friendly and took time to ask about our food and our experience there. We didnt feel awkward being one of the youngest customers there! Im just so glad everything went well w my boyfriend’s celebration, thank you again Prime!

Truffle mash is a must!! The service from our server Ms Fasiha is excellent. She was great at recommending the different cuts of meat, the wine pairing & the portion of food to be shared was just right. We will definitely be back again!!

Another wonderful evening in Prime and this time with some business Associates. A few of them were first timers and everyone were impressed with the quality of food as well as the delightful service from the ladies of Prime.
Chef managed to prepare an off-menu starter item for one of us as he was a non seafood individual and his only comments was the dish was phenomenal.
Everyone had different cuts of meats for the night and every dish came out perfectly. Kudos also to the team for looking after us and hopefully many more will be able to be out and about to enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

I've always returned to Prime for special occassions since 2014 and not once have they let me down. Celebrated our wedding anniversary here in October and Prime was thoughtful enough to set a romantic scene with heart shaped balloons at our table!
Lobster bisque was phenomenal and wagyu was so good I didn't even touched the sauce til towards the end. We were served with a complimentary red velvet cake at the end as well since it was our anniversary.
We had the pleasure of being served by Fasha, Iffah and Syafika, who were incredibly attentive and looked after us well throughout the night.
Will be back again soon!

Prime has good customer service. We were served by Nurul Atiqah and Dewy. Both were very kind and chatted with my chatty boy. Gave him balloons too. They have a kids eat free children’s menu with delicious fried rice. Their steaks are good. Great atmosphere.

The staff at the restaurant misses the mark by a mile. The conversation they initiate are personal and intrusive, nothing pertinent to improve the dining experience.
There is noticeable lack of appreciation on their own menu. Not very assuring. The server completely avoid providing options that comes with the chosen main course, and instead serves the steak with a typical black pepper sauce.
The staff too are too busy with their own routine and movement, inattentive in serving guests - glasses remains empty for way too long.
And it is really shocking that desserts are being served without first clearing the table. It's a complete afterthought.
And still have audacity to ask more than twice to provide them "good" reviews.
Look elsewhere if you plan for special occasion.

Celebrated our 40th Ruby Wedding anniversary tonight with special dining at PRIME of Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur. Certainly it's time to pamper ourselves and special thanks to my dear wife for her love and care for me and the family over the years. Upon arrival at PRIME , we were assigned a cosy and tastefully decorated table for couples. Julie , our server, is good and experienced. For starters, we had the Ceviche ( fresh octopus,scallop with shallot/chili combo) ..appetizing and invigorating start to the evening. For the main course, my wife choose the wagyu ribeye marble 8-9 paired with truffled mash potatoes ...excellent choice. I had the Devesa Argentinian ribeye ...succulent and tasty..love it. Had the Argento Malbec red wine too. Like its aromatic and full body taste. The complimentary dessert with candle and anniversary celebration theme certainly add a touch of finesse to the dining experience.
