The organic and local produce used in the dishes is unlike anything I have tasted in KL. The restaurant is relatively new and I consider this a hidden gem. To me, there are very few that match this level of taste in KL. Those who...do, easily charge double, and even then, some are not on par with what Nik is producing at Canvass. And Rony, thank you for sharing your passion. Your cocktails are easily within the top 5 in SEA for me. But which spot, I will keep a secret. Till next time.
Starter, main, dessert, and cocktails for 2 were around RM250 for us. Depending on the dishes you pick this could go up to around RM300 total or much lower if you do not take 3 courses as we did.
To anyone reading this, If you want to have a nice dinner as a couple at the above price point and prefer a warm/casual rather than uptight interiors. This is one of 3 places in KL that I would recommend. For special occasions, you could opt for the chef's table. A custom-made 6-8 course menu at RM175-RM225. At this level of quality, you should expect to pay more than double that if you were to travel to Europe, Japan or the US.
From an expat perspective, I simply find it incredible that the team is able to deliver at this price point, even taking Malaysia's lower overhead costs into account. If you are still with me reading here, I strongly recommend visiting sooner than later, before this place becomes overbooked.More
