Sakana is situated at a quiet corner in KLCC overlooking Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It has spacious and elegant indoor as well as alfresco sitting. There are quite a variety to choose from the lunch menu, ranging from sashimi to typical Japanese breakfast.
We ordered Sashimi Set and Japanese Curry rice, paired with Suntory Kuro (on tap) and Yuzu Syu (Fruit Liquor which I enjoyed).
The ambience is easy and relaxed. Service from staffs were courteous and prompt but never intrusive.
Will be back soon!

First off, this review is on their food delivery and not dine-in.
Many a times, restaurants which give dishes fancy names are rarely able to meet the expectations of the hungry diner. Today however, we have a restaurant which managed to serve beauty in a roll & fresh sushi to your mouth.
Service: We placed the order via a third party app hence pretty straight forward
Packaging: Nothing much to rave about with very ordinary take away boxes
7up Juicy Fried Chicken (Rm 25)
Protein Sesame Chicken Salad (Rm 22)
Sakana’s Nigiri (Rm 88)
Classic Lucky Roll (Rm 50)
Omega Roll for the Beauty (Rm 37)
Taste: Traditional Japanese food rarely requires much fanfare with much emphasis placed on the freshness of the seafood and texture of the sushi in your mouth. Plating was a joy with minimal fiddling of food but presentable with a simple leaf on the plate.
The crunch of garden fresh salad with the tender chicken topped with a splash of sesame dressing was refreshing. The sushi was fresh without a hint of fishiness rested on a bed of nicely cooked fragrant Japanese rice. It was like being by the beach with the handmade sushi melting in your mouth giving the diner the best of both sea & land.
Though the Fried Chicken did not have much 7-Up flavour or additional sweetness, it was juicy, tender and had a hint of spiciness.
Price: Fairly Reasonable
Recommended? Despite dishes with fancy names, our little monk3y was left hungry for more

Even tho Im not a fan of Raw food but Sushi was so Yummy🤤. I was quite surprised with some of the ingredent imported from Japan but they charge with reasonable price, why have to travel in Japan while you can get here in KL😆
I enjoy all the food that we order.Allday Breakfast Salmon was my favourite😊❤️

We chose the restaurant based on the positive reviews and we were so disappointed. Experience to start was underwhelming as we were given a Qr code to scan n order on our phones with the many staff standing around whilst we struggled to read the menu and had trouble with the app as it kicked us out .
The food was so underwhelming . Tasteless and small servings for the price. We ordered wine by the glass and it was well below the standard size and the red wine was chilled . I would avoid this restaurant as many others serve much better Japanese in the vicinity and better value for money .

Ordered Saba fish set, fish was moist inside and crispy outside. Immunity soba is flavourful. 7up fried chicken is nice and juicy. Wish they still have their Hamburg set, not available today.

Amazing Japanese food. We had visited the twin towers and stumbled across this when we were looking for a non chain restaurant nearby. Despite being empty when we arrived the food was delicious and our kids said it was the best sushi they had ever had! Salmon nigiri was very fresh, the prawn gyoza was lovely and they even made some avocado maki rolls especially for my daughter. Staff were brilliant and bill was reasonable.

It's my fifth time here and I felt that I owed it to the place at least to share how much I have always enjoyed each visit. I brought two friends who had never been to Sakana and they were blown away.
Service wise, I believe they are a little short handed, therefore are unable to be as attentive as you would normally expect for the Japanese level of service. But food wise, they will certainly make your taste buds explode. All ingredients are super fresh and there are some experimentations with calamansi sauces and interesting Foie Gras rolls. We loved every dish and we even repeated a dish and kept ordering. Yup, we three ladies were gluttonous enough to stuff ourselves till we are at the brink of explosion.
My only complaint, they took away my favourite uni cold soba. But their new nato soba kinda made up for it. We enjoyed every bite of our meal and my friends vowed that they would return.
Apologies for the lack of pictures as we became more engrossed with eating.

Quality Japanese food served here with reasonable price. Feels so serene and nice ambience to dine here. The food was delicious, Toro & Yellowtail sashimi that instantly melts in the mouth, the Black Cod Miso is a must try.
Pairing the dishes with Sake is just perfect! Finally it was the Mozart Pudding that adds cherry on top, truly satisfied! 5 stars for their top notch service, highly recommended!

Definitely visit if you're looking for high quality Japanese cuisine!
I had the Japanese Breakfast, a set that consists of your choice of grilled fish (saba or salmon), pickles, vegetable side dish, clam miso soup, onsen egg, and rice. I went with saba and one bite of the fish immediately blew me away. Saba is one of my favourite fish, and this is easily the juiciest and yummiest one I've ever had. The clam miso soup is also another highlight, with its flavourful broth that is so comforting.
Price is a little on the high side, but I can honestly say that it's good value for money. They use premium ingredients and seasonings, everything is executed well and you can tell the effort they put into creating each dish, not just with the taste but also with the choice of tableware, which elevates the whole dining experience.
The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable, and staff are friendly and attentive. It's located n a quiet corner near Dome Cafe, opposite Mandarin Oriental. Love the stylish interior and the al fresco dining, which is a great option to have a relaxing meal or drinks. Great choice for a weekend out with the family (noticed a few kid-friendly features), a dinner date with friends, or business meetings over lunch.
It's one of the best finds in KLCC and I guarantee that you won't regret coming here!

Lovely relaxed cafe, unfortunately tucked in a corner away from the main thoroughfare of the KLCC Mall.Food was okay, perhaps i did not choose well. The premium Japanese Eel bowl was anything but premium, sitting on a bed of very dry rice. Even the accompanying omelette ribbons were dry. The sashimi was fresh and the wasabi Caesar salad was good but without any overt taste of wasabi. A little surprising. Maybe will come back and try a different dish.
Staff were okay but can benefit from a stint in a charm school.

Straigh forward menu and they offer 3 different selection menu every session. Lunch (Set Lunch), Tea Time, DInner (ala carte, tempura. yakitori, sashimi and sushi roll).
My kids really enjoy the food.
Finally i can get the real Japanese flavor Yakitori in KL. Prices are not expensive, and its value for oney.
Highly recommended to everyone. They serve food until midnight, and thats teh BEST.
Its a must visit when you are in KLCC!

Great modern Japanese food in refined atmosphere with lovely outdoor al fresco seats as well. Shady, tucked away in between KLCC and MO Hotel. The kids loved the chicken katsu. Avocado rolls, octopus and prawn side dish, saba set - all 👍. Such good food presented beautifully.

The salmon sashimi is perfect. The soy sauce is nice. I had the grill saba set, it was well grilled and full of taste. All and all, it’s perfect and very reasonable. Highly recommended for a decent japanese food and if you wish to have some quiet time, this is the place!
