Always good to have local breakfast at this place. My favorite is the peanut butter toast with teo half boiled eggs, and a cup of coffee. However, today I also like to having a pair of “kuih lapis”, my favorite childhood cake. Perfect and inexpensive.

It’s really a good place to have kopitiam food and beverages, especially good old school of toast bread, eggs and kopi. Inexpensive breakfast set at RM9.90.

For a seemingly simple dish, the gravy was a pleasure to savour, not sweet and with a slight sourish note that was just alright. Each bite will bring out the full-on explosions of wonderfully sweet, spicy and sourish flavors... not a bad choice to give this a try!

I gave up queuing at the airport Toastbox as the staff were moving at snail pace. The queue was getting longer - at least 7 in line and 5 minutes per customer before a new orders is taken. At that rate I’d be waiting half an hour before anyone takes an order! Staff couldn’t be bothered to pay any attention. It would have been nice to get a laksa that day but I wouldn’t go back into a queue like that. The staff attitudes and training need to change. Especially in an international scene such as the airport.

A nice decent place to get a good authentic Laksa and Mee Rebus with Barleys drink. Very reasonable price. Highly recommend to grab yourself something nice at the airport in KL

We waited in the queue for about 5 minutes and to our surprise 3 cockroaches were running all over beneath the order counter in full view of the customers!! We said ‘ ugh , cockroaches! And left the queue
But the locals do not seem to mind about the cockroaches??

(This is a review of the Toast Box outlet at the Departures Terminal, KLIA2).
The food court just before the gates at this terminal has a bunch of eateries, ranging from one which serves Indian food to one which specializes in dimsums. We arrived here to catch an evening flight, and decided to have an early dinner before we boarded. The most prominent kiosk we could see at the food court (and also the one with the menu that most appealed to us) was Toast Box. This one has its own seating—rather more comfortable and plush than that of the food court itself—and its own wait staff who come around to clean up.
The menu at Toast Box does feature toast (including with the very popular coconut jam known as kaya), but it also has other popular Malaysian dishes. These can be ordered a la carte or as part of meal sets. The meal set consists of a main dish, rice (if necessary), and barley water, which you can get either hot or cold, depending upon your preference. We ordered an Asom laksa and a chicken curry (which came with steamed rice on the side). For both meal sets, we opted for a chilled barley water.
At first sight, the chicken curry looked very dubious to me: it had large chunks of spongy, deep-fried tofu floating in what looked like a very fiery curry—and with no sign of chicken. However, digging a little deeper, we did find two chicken drumsticks and a largeish chunk of potato. The taste was very good, full of flavour and not very spicy at all. I loved this.
The Asom laksa, which had prawns, shredded chicken, fried tofu and hard-boiled egg in it, was every bit as good, with lots of flavour. The barley water was something neither of us liked, but not to the point of hating it.
Considering we paid only RM36.80 and were stuffed to the gills with good food, I’d call this very good value for money.

If you want authentic Malaysian laksa, the toast box is where you can get it. It’s a seafood lovers delight and a nice wholesome meal for the soul ;)

Came in for lunch with my family drawn in by the cheap prices. There's a reason it's fairly cheap.... the quality is pretty lousy. We ordered : laksa, which was thin, lacking ingredients with none of the trademark richness, the chicken rendang, which was basically a curry, and not aromatic, and a Mee rebus, which tasted overly of fermented fish.
Not recommended, no matter how cheap

These places never stop. They are our go-to for a quick breakfast downtown in Malaysia, and we also lucked into a hotel stay in Singapore a couple of years back where there was a Toast Box on the ground floor! Half-boiled egg with kaya toast...yum! There's a real buzz around having brekkie among the great tide of smartly dressed locals who are on their way to work. Coffee's good too.

Tried many times in Singapore and food was perfect but this outlet in KLIA2 was terrible at 8:30 am on a Sunday. No drinks available except for barley - no boiling water. Kaya toast was not crispy enough. Very disappointed with this brand.

This review is for Klia2 branch. Early morning flight, checked in and needed some wake me up coffee. Reasonably priced coffee and toast, though not particularly differentiating considering from this famous brand.
