Went there the first day and was impressed with the wide selection. Racheal who was attending to us gave us very good advice on what to order from the overwhelmingly large menu.
The experience was so good that I ended up going again the next day. Will definitely come again on the next trip.

We actually ate a cheap Chinese on Jalan Alor and then headed on to the Whisky Bar for a glass of Glenrothes (served in a Glenrothes glass) and then ordered CrĂŞpes Suzette. For the street theatre alone 10 out of 10 (we were sitting outside on Changkat Bukit Bintang watching the scene) The flaming brandy and later Gran Marnier attracted a lot of attention. The taste, however, was fantastic!

Wife brought me over for my birthday dinner after a long day.
Johnny, recommended me taking a medium Rib Eye since I am not sure if I can take other part of the meat and I don’t wanna waste the food.
And he even threw a surprise birthday dessert for me. Overall a very very good experience with some very good food.
Thanks Johnny, I will dine in here again.

Since the beginning of this decade (lol), I've made it a point to visit 10 bars before the first week of the new decade is up (terrible resolution, I know). Lo and behold it's 6 Jan and I'm up to Bar #9. Whisky Bar @Changkat. And the only bar so far I'm making an effort to review.
KL smokers rejoice! You can smoke here, albeit you have to sit outside. But the wait staff here more than makes up for it. Esp Rachel. She never forgets a face and your favourite tipple, so it's always home sweet home here (actual home being 20 mins away for me!).
Crowd is awesome (read diverse), food is what we Malaysians would say "ok-ok la", drinks are absurdly on point and priced fairly; and if you simply need a semblance of civility while deciding which whisky to while the night, I highly recommend this bar~

If you’re a scotch enthusiast visiting central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you’ve got to swing by The Whisky Bar. This was my best scotch experience so far (I’ve not yet been to Scotland). Their collection has more than 700 different labels and is a bit larger than mine (#sarcasm). The manager, Andy, posts outstanding reviews on Instagram of his latest tastings (@pot_or_column) and I had been following him from afar. It was a pleasure meeting him and sommelier Marcus and talking scotch shop with folks so knowledgeable, yet so down-to-earth. I devised my tasting lineup through Andy’s Instagram reviews and then his and Marcus’ personal advice, which all catered to my palate. The experience was so special I returned two days later for a second round of tastings. If you are a serious (or borderline serious) scotch enthusiast, you’ll want to visit during the weekday, when it’s less crowded, so you can take time to sit at the bar, relax and enjoy the camaraderie. But make sure it’s a day Andy and/or Marcus are there (I went on a Thursday and Saturday). For the scotch nerds out there, among my tastings were: Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s Linkwood 9 (A tropical breakfast), Linkwood 19 (A Blue Lady and a Seraph’s smile), Springbank 22 (A coal bucket of marshmallows), a Single Cask Macduff 19, a Single Cask The English Whisky Co. 8, and a Bowmore 29 (1982 vintage). Overall, a wonderfully memorable experience.
P.S. Hey, Andy: Maybe Simon would like Glen Grant 18. Have him give it a try!

Well worth a visit if you are not on a tight budget. All meals were perfectly prepared and presented. The beer is ice cold for a hot evening if you are not into Whisky although they have an immense selection of vintage brands. There are 2 adjacent restaurants. One the whisky bar and the other the steak house. Both are well appointed and relaxing. We ate in the whiskey bar where you will be presented with an extensive whisky menu. You'll have to ask for the food menu. There is some outdoor seating on Bukit Bintang for smoking although the recently changed smoking laws are a bit complicated. As I understand if anyone at the table is eating then you are not suppose to smoke. Loosely enforced at best.
The tenderloin steak was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth texture. Halibut was another nice choice along with the spring chicken.
Definitely will return on my frequent trips to KL.

This was actually our fourth visit to this restaurant so I thought I have to leave a review. We travel to KL a lot and Stakehouse is a MUST visit for us, almost tried all their foods and starters and I have to say every single one of them been so delicious. Service is excellent too. A bit pricey but if you compare the quality of food to a restaurant in London for example the value for money is amazing. 100% recommended.

Came here with my wife this evening and was incredibly impressed. I'm a whiskey lover and this place has the most impressive collection of whiskey I've ever seen. The food was amazing I got the Medallion steak (and it was one of the most tender steaks I've ever had) and wifey got tasty scallops. To top it all off, the service was amazing. Arif is a perfect gentleman and makes the hell out of the crepe suzette. Highly recommend this place for an evening of great food, drinks and atmosphere.

If you're a whiskey fan this is the place to be! There is also an extensive list of cocktails that are well made and worth trying. We originally went here for the snacks menu on their website, but it is no longer available. We tried the beef carpaccio, a seafood spaghetti and the halibut. We would recommend these options.

We started with the rib eye steak which was tender and melted im your mouth. We have some yummy cocktails and a game of thrones whiskey flight which is my first experience of this kind of thing. What a great experience and thanks especially to Arif who talked us through the process, and shared his passion and interest in whiskey. What an experience. Definately one place to visit on your trip to KL!

Thats what drove us here. The Missus opted for the lamb cutlet and I decided on the 200gm tenderloin. She had black pepper sauce and I ordered the lemon butter.
The cuts were absolutely delicious. There were 3 cuts of lamb, served with gdn veg,
and other stuff.
The tenderloin was very tender and a little crunchy on the edges. Just perfect.
Although the Missus struggled to finished the lamb cutlet. Too much for her.
Service was excellent from Jack and Ali.
With dessert the bill came to rm420.00.
More than happy to pay that.

last week we were in Malaysia kolalampur for 5 days short trip and almost we had food at The Whisky Bar & Steakhouse. food was delicious and every time we had different food. so we loved choice food very much !! With over 900 whiskeys from across the world, this is a fascinating place. Arif who catered to us not only had great recommendations but his knowledge and passion for whiskey and cigars is contagious. Definitely a place to visit again!

At first this place was unassuming, it seemed simple, fairly quiet while on a still very busy street full of bars of young people, but my experience here was substantial. I have been traveling solo for many months now and this dinner was the best I have had in years. Rachel was fantastic and the rest of the staff was equally accommodating. Their whisky selection was superior to many fine dining establishments I have visited in the U.S. The mashed potatoes with my steak were without a doubt the best I have ever had in my life. The steak was also amazing. I will absolutely dine here again when I come back to Malaysia. If you enjoy fine dining in a casual atmosphere and you have moderate to sophisticated taste, The Whiskey Bar stands alone. Don’t make the mistake of missing this place during your time in this wonderful city, and have a scotch for me!
I am a 24 y/o from Arizona who enjoys my time alone just as much as my time with friends. This place will facilitate either.

I love to drink whisky and i ask to arif recommendations some good smokey whisky and he give me islay smokey whisky and it was really good recommendations and this bar you can find 900 hundreds different kind of whisky also they have good cigar collection. Ask arif to choose your whisky and cigar.nice and cozy place.
