This is the worst Chinese food that I've ever tasted. I'm very disappointed that the standard of an Oriental Group Restaurant has dropped so much because I've dined at their other restaurants and the standard is usually good. We ordered the special prawn dish which...comes in half portion at RM36. What we were served is more like a shrimp ( because it's soooooo tiny!) cut into half and in a huge bowl of sauce. So the tiny shrimp cut into two is considered two portions which is the minimum order. Then we had the ribs which is RM56 per piece x 2 pieces, which was chewy and hard as rock. We have had ribs at other Oriental Group Restaurants before. It's definitely not like this. The captain sent it back and said they will give us pork chop instead because it is tender. So if your chef doesn't know how to cook ribs properly then why is it even on your menu? It's like not much thought is given to the preparation of the food. The other dishes - acceptable but nothing fantastic in fact it's not tasty. It's worst than "Tai Chow" (street stir fry) level but at designer price in a venue with no ambience. The service is very bad! We were seated very quickly. But when we asked them to take our food orders, we had to ask three different waiters, and each of them disappeared saying they will call the caption. But after half an hour, nothing happened and nobody appeared to take our order. Finally, after a long time, a lady appeared to take the order. While the waiters are polite, they don't understand English, Chinese or Malay, and can't communicate. If you ask them for anything, they can't reply you or attend to it. It was crowded and the noise level is extremely high. There is not much ambience and the restaurant layout is not conducive for a meal. This restaurant is NOT recommended! If the food is nice, then we don't mind the price, but the food here is not nice and really not worth it.More

This restaurant is located in an upmarket shopping mall. It’s newly renovated and the pictures in the menu appears to be good cuisine. We ordered some dim sum and some dishes. There were more misses than hits. Actually I can’t find a dish that I...can describe as very good. The poached chicken with fragrant rice was average as the chicken was over-cooked. The garoupa fish soup with noodles is not good as the soup was too milky and the fish was without fish taste. I think the steamed barbecued meat bun was ok though fillings was on the sweet side. We also ordered crispy fried pork belly which was ok. All other dishes were totally forgettable. I guess it’s an ok place for entertainment given the ambiance and decor but this is not a place for delicious food. Just expect average food and not be too disappointed.More

There are set times for dim sum lunch over the weekend, so you can book a 1.5 hour slot at 10 am, 12 noon or 2 pm. The dim sum is of good quality and very tasty. The frequently ordered dim sum are brought out...by the waiters for you to choose from. The not so common dishes can be ordered off a menu. However, the restaurant was busy and even some of the commonly ordered dishes took a while to come. If you want more and make a second round of orders, then be prepared to wait more. However, the food is worth waiting for!More

We had dim sum at The Ming Room in Bangsar Shopping Complex. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait a long time for some of the dim sum that we ordered. The dim sum was good. Each dim sum dish cost around RM...10 to RM 12.80.More

While their food may be good, their employees are terribly rude. I have experienced this before while trying to make reservations for CNY in 2 of their outlets - ironically located in high-end malls in KL (BSC and Gardens). I have previously left feedback regarding...this matter, but this morning was completely and freshly taken aback by another bad-mannered woman at The Ming Room, BSC. I didn't even get her name because she put down the phone right after babbling out the confirmed reservation. Neither did she ask for my name. I suppose as long as the food is good, their PR and manners can be horrible.More

A good variety of food in reasonable portions for those who like to try a bit of everything. I particularly like their meticulously prepared sauces for different dishes. The puer tea is good

My wife treated me to a birthday dinner at The Ming Room in Bangsar Shopping Centre. We had Ala Carte Chinese dinner, including BBQ pork, Peking Duck, Steamed Cod, Black Pepper Beef, Beancurd with mushroom, Fried rice, Noodles with the rest of the Peking Duck...and asparagus with broccoli. We rounded the evening off with a truly delicious tiramisu prepared by my wife. The food was excellent. Service was fast and efficient.More

We did not order their dim sum but had hokkien mee, water prawn koay teow soup, roast pork, soft shell crab buns, mango cream with sago and taufu fah. All their dishes was bland and not to the standard of a good reputable restaurant. The...hokkien Mee not enough wok Hei although the taste wasn’t bad and their Mango sago cream taste like a diluted mango ice cream with few small pieces of mangos. Honestly grand imperial mango cream sago is way much tastier. The road side taufu fah even more tastier than this restaurant. I will not return for their Cantonese cuisine but may want to try their dim sum one day. I think their chefs needs more trainingMore

Our recent dinner experience at the Ming Room was so good perhaps because Cantonese cuisine is rather bland. But the dim sum is excellent and reminds us of our many years in Hong Kong. Char Siu Bau is spot on, light and fluffy with rich...roasted pork. The mixed pork and duck platter was tremendous. Dim sum off the trolley lovely including the flavoursome turnip cake. Very good efficient service. Packed so book.More

We were there in 2019 for a CNY lunch fixed menu - and were a little disappointed. This year - another visit, and we were very happy indeed. Some lovely dishes - a ficoid glaciale salad with a special dressing which was delightful and some...salt/pepper ribs very delicious. Lovely ambience, as ever and great service.More

The restaurant is conveniently located in an upmarket mall. It’s very busy during lunch hours and you should book in advance. The tables are place quite close together and it can get rather noisy. However, service is good and efficient and the food is very...tasty with fresh ingredients. We had a lunch set for 4 people ($588) just a few days before Chinese New Year. The set with includes a shark bone soup, steam soon hock fish, celery with squid, half a chicken with chicken rice and a dessert was really a good deal. All the dishes were very tasty. Both the fish and chicken were delicious and definitely make us want to come re-visit this restaurant. Also, although the restaurant was super busy, the toilets were very clean.More
