Mum and I were excited to try out the Japanese restaurant at our Hilton stay. We ordered the Bento boxes and were surprised at how much scrumptious and aesthetically appealing food we were given at the price offering. The restaurant had wonderful ambience and a gorgeous fish tank display which made for such a welcoming atmosphere. A massive thank you to Ben, Saiful and Amy for serving us with untold amounts of kindness and a bright display of the Malaysian spirit of hospitality. We look forward to coming again! :))

It was my first time meeting my son’s future parents in law and I decided to arrange dinner get together at Iketeru. As I was staying at Hilton, I made reservations through the hotel for a private room for the occasion. The restaurant normally charges RM 100 for the private room but this was waived when they heard that it was a family occasion to discuss wedding plans for our children. This was a first indication on having a good start to a fantastic time we were going to have that evening.
Iketeru is situated at the pool level of Hilton hotel and the overall feature of the restaurant entrance was like a Japanese tea house. As you enter the restaurant you will see the teppanyaki station on the right. We were lead to the private room to the left of the restaurant. The entire restaurant felt cozy and bright. The private room was well appointed and the 5 of us felt comfortable as the room was a fair sized one.
When it came to ordering, we found the menu extensive with the normal Japanese fairs like sushi, maki, sashimi, tempura, udon etc. We ordered a mix of sushi, sashimi, fried udon and the Wagyu set which comprised of hotpot and teppanyaki style beef. The entire selection of food was absolutely delectable! The sushi and sashimi were fresh and flavourful. The highlight of the dinner meal was the Wagyu set of course. The Wagyu for the hotpot was finely sliced when the beef was put in the pot, it didn’t take long to cook and it was absolutely tender to eat. Then there was the Wagyu teppanyaki. This was done to perfection and the beef just melted in your mouth when eaten. Some may find the Wagyu set pricey but I found it to be good value for money and definitely a MUST try if ever you have a meal at Iketeru.
The great food and the wonderful ambience of Iketeru made for a fantastic and successful evening in the discussion for my son’s wedding. I can’t thank the Iketeru team enough for making a significant evening so memorable for my son, his future wife, future in laws and me. Iketeru will forever hold a special place to us now and I will make it a point to return again whenever I am in KL for work or vacation. Domo Arigato Iketeru!

Iketeru is among my favourite restaurants in KL. The food is delicious and high quality; the venue is classy; and the staff are attentive, always making an effort to make you feel at home.
I was served by Saiful, Ben, Amy and Irene on my recent visits. Saiful will always ensure he will be my main server. On my last visit, he offered us complimentary salad to make up for our late orders on a busy night. It was also my brother’s birthday, so we were given a free slice of chocolate cake with a magic relight candle!
My go-to dishes almost every time are the uni sushi, saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel) in teriyaki sauce, and yuzu sorbet. I also enjoy the weekday set lunches, truly a treat before continuing another half day of work!

Was here last Saturday (18 July) for my birthday celebration with my fiance.
Love the ambience & decor of the restaurant (both indoor & outdoor). We made a reservation at 6.30pm and arrived slightly early. It was quite windy, so we decided to head in the restaurant at around 6.20-6.25pm. Not sure why, the restaurant has a very sturdy door, gladly there was a Chef happily assisted us with a smile to open the door (Thanks for his hospitality!). However, our 1st impression on the waiting staff weren't very great when one of the staff at the counter has a long face. We told her we have a reservation at 6.30pm and my fiance prepared himself to show the TableApp reservation, and the next reply we got from her was "We are open at 6.30pm". I'm not sure what was her intention for that sarcastic reply, but I find it wasn't very pleasant or relevant because firstly I didnt ask for the time, and secondly, I was 5-8 minutes early for my reservation only (I'm quite sure of this, cos we were walking around the pool/cave area from 6.15pm for around 10 minutes?).. I didn't get her name but she has short hair, wear spectacles, and donned in a blazer.
So, we were ushered to our table and ordered Chef Okamoto's 6 Course Special Set. Food service was fast and the food was very very fresh (I ordered the Seafood Set & my fiance orderd the Wagyu Set). Portion was big and I really love the freshness of the sashimi! Throughout our dinner, I would like to say kudos to Shafiq for his service. The restaurant seems a little busy that night, but Shafiq made his effort to ensure we had a good dining experience.
Overall, I look forward to come back again with a hungrier stomach as the portion is huge! Maybe next time I won't show up 5 minutes earlier than 6.30pm lol

Iketeru has always served the proper and better Japanese cuisine in Kuala Lumpur.
A premium to be paid but nonetheless the usage of ingredients are always top quality.

My family and I visited Iketeru on 4/1/2020 for my brother’s birthday dinner. We had specifically Teppanyaki and truly enjoyed them (scallops, tiger prawns, sirloin, salmon and shiitake mushrooms were the bombs!). Must however expect some delay with the food especially during weekend. I would like to specifically highlight Mr Saiful, the restaurant manager who was exceptionally attentive and kind throughout the dinner. Thank you too to the chefs and other staffs.

We were surprised by the freshest sashimi and sushi flown in from Japan and the service is first class. This is especially with Zuraini who served us with a family of 5 with an outstanding professionalism and sensitive to our needs even without us asking. All other staff were very polite. I highly recommend this restaurant and the food I had (Omakase) was heavenly. Highly recommended of course!!! Will come back for sure.

This is my first japanese dinner with friends, Stephanie and Feon and Pauline at Iketeru on Thursday 4th June, 2020. In fact Iketeru just started business on Monday 1st June, 2020. We sat at the sushi bar and Chef Fai prepared us very fresh sashimi from Japan and also delicious sushi for us. Chef Kenny from the kitchen prepared us a clear soup of japanese wantons which is made of fish filling and also stewed toro which is superbly done. It was a delightful dinner indeed.

Iketeru turned what supposedly a quiet business dinner into an intimate bithday dinner. Chef Okamoto came personally to talk abt his menu, while staff Zuraini, Samantha and Arlyn were attentive and hospitable without disturbing the privacy of the closed tatami room. Food was super and big. We thought the December set menus were too big but in the end, we finished almost everything. Ambience is modern and chic but if you want something with Japanese feel, the tatami room is the right choice.

Very nice ambiance. The food was cooked very well. Would recommend getting the beef and seafood bento sets. I had the beef bento set and it didn't disappoint with a wonderful little salad that goes perfectly with the excellent cook on the beef. The server was a pleasure to have around as she always kept us entertained while serving us. Very nice and relatable servers named Miss Azura and Fadli. The servers were the best compliment I could have asked for with such a well-crafted meal.

Amazing lunch,food is of the highest quality and presentation. Our waitress Azura was warm,friendly & quick to respond. She recommended a very tasty mushroom salad which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend the Kaisen Set for lunch-large amounts of codfish,salmon fish & seafood.

We love the wagyu sirloin and the lobster teppanyaki. Was served by Azura, syafiq and Alam. The staff were very friendly, attantive to our needs and recommended the restaurant best dishes. The waiting time also fast.

I like the nice ambiance overlooking a man made waterfall, gives me a comfortable and cosy feel while dining. Food quality is fresh and delicious almost similar to eating in Japan 😀.
Iketeru Restaurant staffs are very friendly and we are treated like VIPs. Thanks to the hard work and hospitality by staffs of Ms Auzura, Ms Aryln, Ms Amelia, Mr Alam. Keep up the good work...U guys are awesome !! Will be looking forward for my next visit.
