It is Chinese New Year. Decided to come here for a simple lunch. As usual it is a must to have the Yue Sang (raw fish dish) during Chinese New Year. On top of that, they also have Lap Mei Farn (Mixed waxed meat rice...in claypot), also ordered stir fry vegetables with garlic, and fried roast pork. Food is really good. Also ordered fried rice noodles (small portion). Maybe due to Chinese New year, the portions were slightly smaller. A good place to celebrate Chinese New Year, lunch or dinner.More

Came in 2nd day CNY at 8.15pm. Tables Half full. Not busy. Most of the tables have already finished their meal. Ordered 5 dishes. For 6 pax. 1. Dishes came, enough for 3 to 4 pax only 2. Ordered curry fish. The dish came without...any fish, just lots of tau pok, fu zuk, lady finger and long bean. Told the person in charge who took our order. She showed us her annoyed face and just took the dish away without saying anything. - the curry dish came back 20 min later with more fu zuk on top and average amount of fish. Again, enough for 4 pax only. 3. The bloody dishes come out so SLOW! Waited 20 min, First was the veg. After 15 min 2nd dish. After another 10 min, the curry came out, which we sent back. The last dish came out 30 min after the first dish. By that time, first dish already cold. Rice served already cold. 4. Ordered yam pork, came out tapioca with pork. 🤦‍♂️ 5. Overall food taste was good. But not good enough for all the lousy service. Will never return.More

Felt totally disgusted, the old auntie who works here go round a table where the customer has just left to pick up spoon and sauce plate that are less dirty and clean it with the dirty table cloth and chuck them where they place their...‘clean’ cutlery, I ask the waitress who is taking order is that their normal practice and she reply in rude manner saying she just put it there mah, will bring in to wash! I ask why not put together with the rest that are dirty and she just show me a uneasy face, I keep watching and to no surprise another waitress keep all the spoon and sauce plate in the cabinetMore

After more than a year, came back for a revisit since we were within the vicinity. It's Sunday, and the place was pretty full, but manage to get a table. Sat down and ordered a few dishes. Ask them to recommend, and they recommended braised...pork leg with turnip in claypot, stir fry vegetable with garlic, grilled pork neck, and braised taufu with seafood and mixed vegetable. Since it was full, we have t wait for our order to turn up, but it did not take long. All the dishes we order is really good, especially the grilled pork neck. In fact it is one of their signature dish. So, whenever you are here, grilled pork neck is a must order dish. Great! Will come back for more whenever around the vicinity.More

this place serves pretty authentic chinese food. they do not really have a menu in english so it's very difficult for those who don't know how to read chinese. but fret not, just ask for recommendation. all dishes that we had ordered have never gone...wrong so far, visited this place many many times already and still never disappoints. one of my favourite is the hakka abacus yam beads. if you're travelling, i would suggest to get a local to bring you here as this restaurant caters more for locals - the location itself is quite conspicuous. if you can speak chinese, by all means shouldn't be a problem for you.More

We have been having family dinners in Restaurant 9888 frequently. Food is good. Prices are reasonable. There are two outlets. One along Jalan Cheras and the other in Taman Midah, Cheras. Service staff are efficient. Restaurant specialty is the pork neck which can be on...the pricey side. There is also the delicious house brand taufoo and lala fried meehoon. Worth a visit.More

One of my favorite. It located behind main cheras road, limit parking space. This place is alway packed. Must try this 3 dish in 9888- mutton soup, deep fry pumpkin & pork neck meat ... no regret.

Was invited for lunch here. This time someone else order the dishes. The food is still as good as my last revisit, which is almost a year ago. As it is a weekday, was not expecting many people, but it was almost full during lunch...time which is from 12 noon until 2 pm. The crowd was mainly for lunch break. So, they came in and go off once they have finish their orders. So, have to come early to avoid the lunch crowdMore

the location of this restaurant is not along the main road. It is located in a hidden road from the main road of Jalan Cheras. However, it is easy to find. The shop frontage is very large. So, really cannot miss. Plenty of tables inside...the restaurant, but can get crowded, especially on weekends. What to order? Well, the menu is on the wall. No pictures but all written in Chinese. Having problem? Get the order taker to recommend. As usual, they speak Chinese, especially Cantonese. Their recommendations can be quite good. Recommended dishes are pork neck, steam fish - choice of fish would depend on availability, etc. The rest as in tofu and vegetables are quite normal compare to other restaurants. Quality of food is really good. Very palatable. As usual, when the place is crowded it can get very noisy - a typical Chinese restaurantMore
