Lots of choices of claypot rice and some interesting ones. But we went for the usual chicken, fish claypot rice.

We order a small bowl share between us and a plate of vegetable.
Delicious food. Would definitely come again to try the other variety as there is plenty to choose.
We went at 9:40pm. And they usually close at 9:30pm as stated, but they have last order for us (very accomodating). We were the last people who ate there as the establishment close at 10pm. We came at night when there's plenty of parking.

They have a good variety of claypot rice. One thing I like about the claypot rice here is that every claypot rice is made to order, hence the "fresh" texture. There's also a pleasant "crisp" of rice at the very bottom of the claypot. The only downside would be the long wait(10-15mins for each order). I usually visit this place during the weekend afternoons and it was not really that crowded.

First I must say that while I am not exactly a fan of claypot rice, the place surprised me. The place is a no-frills plain-looking restaurant. Parking during lunch and Wednesday night can be a problem.
What I liked were the varieties of claypot rice. While the prices may be a bit higher than typical Cheras kopitiam prices, it is still affordable. I ordered the mutton rice. I liked it though I would like it even more if they added more vegetables.
If you are going in a group, you should order a variety so that everyone can try different dishes.

Among the Claypot rice I have taken, I preferred this shop as the ingredients are fresh. Best among them all was the Prawn Claypot rice. The prawns are really succulent & fresh. The steamed soups are also very good.Check it out

I would say the food here is just average. The interesting thing is you can choose from a variety from the common claypot chicken rice flavour to tom yum or black pepper. There are also 4 types of soup & 4 types of vegetables to choose from. Side dish of fried tofu is very tasty which comes in serving of 6 or 12 pcs.
To avoid the crowd, you have come as early as 6 or 6.30pm. They only have 12 tables of which 4 are for 6-7 persons, 4 tables for 2-3 persons & 4 for 2 persons. Parking after 7pm is quite difficult or a bit far as there is another restaurant few doors away.
Restaurant is comfortable as the seating is not very close to each other. You can move around easily. Try to avoid coming on Wednesday night as there is a night market right in front of it.

Having 10 varieties of claypot rice, very nice. Traditional claypot chicken rice, this shop added prawn, fish with tom yam flavors.

Located along Jalan Cerdas within Taman Connaught, Gafan is a well known eatery popular with the locals around the area. This restaurant has been around for quite a while and continues to dish out some pretty tasty claypot treats. We were there early and well before the usual dinner crowd so it wasn't difficult securing a table.
What was unique about this restaurant are the different types of claypot rice available. They have the claypot chicken rice with salted fish, claypot bean paste chicken rice, claypot prawn rice, claypot black pepper steak rice, claypot drunken chicken rice & claypot black pepper chicken rice just to name a few. We ordered a small serving of the bean paste, black pepper & salted fish claypot chicken rice and 2 servings of their homemade deep fried tofu (6pcs per serving).
The salted fish chicken rice was pretty tasty and aromatic while black pepper version was a tad too peppery and lacked any other flavour. The bean paste version was the one that really stood out and tasted delicious. The deep fried homemade tofu was nothing like we have tasted before. It was crispy on the outside and very soft & moist on the inside. We couldn't identify the ingredients of the tofu but whatever it was, it tasted delicious.
Seating capacity within the restaurant is limited and so is the parking availability around it. So if you are planning to head here for dinner, it would be advisable to make it by 6:30pm to avoid the hassle.
