My husband (bless his soul) booked us for a romantic dinner to celebrate my birthday. Firstly a dodgy area for a so called up market restaurant. We booked a table but upon arrival were told to choose one? OK that we could live with. Waiters...untrained and mumble so you cant hear them. Tables too close together. Ordered wine, that was the best part of our experience. For starters, my husband had the Foie Gras, it was grainy, charred, tiny portion and just horrible. I had the Scallops, they were very average. For Mains hubby ordered the Beef Cheek, it was bitter and powdery and he could not eat it. I ordered the Duck, it came ice ice cold, I asked for it to be replaced and I think they reheated it but it came back luke warm and so chewy. I sent that back too, they offered to replace the food but all we wanted to do was get out of there. Needless to say by this time we were so over this "wonderful" Fench Cafe we asked for the bill. They took our main courses off the bill. All I can say is DO NOT waste your hard earned money on this place, I was appalled, I was expecting proper French cuisine as good as I had in France but you are better off ordering something exceptionally tasty from the street vendors at Jalan AlorMore

i was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate husband"s bday...found this online...reviews were pretty good. The restaurant's name is not clearly visible from the street. Food, drinks and service was excellent, except that we found it irritating that when we wanted to place order for...a particular dish or drink, we were told that it was not available. Would suggest that when the menu is handed to us..we are informed of whatever item not available for the day. Also the waiters were trying to push us to order main meals immediately..we actually wanted to order starters and drinks 1st and relax before ordering main meals. Ambience was disappointing...didnt get the French feeling...tables were too close to each other.Washroom also didnt look really well kept...washbasin looked stained. I heard that a new branch is going to be opened soon. Just hope that it lives up to the expectation of a high end restaurant. Also would like to thank staff for the lava cake and ice cream with the Happy bday message.More

Damned shame the food was as poor as it was because the restaurant itself was full of charm. Duck confit was as bad as I have had - you would have been better off playing the drums with that drum stick. Starter of 'Camembert' should...have been the warning sign - did not taste of cheese. Wine list was OK, but for a 'French' restaurant - just having one french white wine to pick from was very disappointing. Overall, with the pricing they charge it was a remarkably disappointing experienceMore

What a lovely night spent in this restaurant. The food was excellent, ambience was top notch and customer service is of 5-Stars standard. Definitely a perfect place if you are trying to experience a romantic night out. Would strongly recommend this place especially couples. The...staffs are very thoughful and professional and really went extra mile to serve us. Kudos to them! And also, never ever miss out trying their foei gras, it’s one of the best I have ever had (might be subjective but that’s my personal opinion). A restaurant which deserves a standing ovation. Thanks for being so accommodating!More

Great food, excellent service. But sitting in the usual Malaysian aircon breeze can be chilly if you are daft enough to wear a short sleeved shirt. French background music adds to the romance.

Celebrated V day there. Food was so so. Nothing to shout about. Premise was cramped with tables next to each other, of course to gain max returns. Staffs were under trained, probably hired from kopitiam next door. Cutleries should be changed after each servings. Very...minimal understanding etiquette. Staffs were just rushing around to get things done. Not a place for special occasion anymore. Very unpleasant experience. Eat and go is ok but still I will think twice since I am paying good money.More

My wife and I visited Cafe Cafe to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It was an excellent choice. The interior of the restaurant feels really French. The music contributes to the French and romantic atmosphere. We had a nice table at the side. So, enough privacy. I...noticed that some other tables were quite close to each other. The food was delicious. Beautifully done. This despite a full restaurant. The selection of wine is good as well. A wonderful experience.More

Love the ambience, very romantic, food is nice especially the foie gras, texture is just nice and so juicy, but the beef cheeks was a bit overcooked.

Great night for a romantic dinner to this place! The food is really good (+1 for the truffle prawn with the menu at 133). The food is great and the price are really worth it. We enjoyed everything except on waiter who didn't seem to...enjoy my boyfriend skin colour and was not replying to him when we were calling for him. Was a good night otherwise. Will go again!More

It was my first time dining at Cafe Cafe last week. I was amazed upon entering the place, it is elegant and yet not pretentious. We had foie gras and Truffled prawns as recommended. Both are excellent as we do not need to spend triple...the price at Michelin restaurants for the same good quality starters with premium ingredients. The main we had beef cheek and pasta with truffle sauce as I am a fan of truffle.. The beef was perfectly stewed at its softness melts in your mouth. The Truffled mashed was well accomplished with the beef. Fettucinne was a bit hard for me the texture but it was fine as European cooking likes to maintain it's Al Dante bite. The truffle flavour was generous with the final touch of Roasted macadamia that added value to the bite. Waiter was friendly and I will certainly come back that we spent about RM 220 per person instead of dining at luxury KLCC view with the similar food quality that ended up RM 1500 for 2. Cafe Cafe--reasonable price, hidden gem, unpretentious, excellent food quality and service..More

Some of the better tasting Oysters and Escargots you can find in KL at very reasonable price. The Chef even help you remove the Escargots from their shells, although I would find it more fun to prick those little mollusc from their home (Evil Grin)....Nonetheless, the food tastes great and one of the waiter takes really good photos. The location is abit of a letdown (A little rundown) and may be difficult to find (Since its chucked one corner), but what the heck, we are there for the food, less so for the amazing view. (The interior was alright though). Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and we won't mind visiting it again.More

Firstly, looking at how highly rated this restaurant is, I really wonder if we were eating at the same restaurant as these other reviewers. The night started well as I was impressed with the restaurants unique and quint deco. But It must be mentioned that...the restaurants surroundings are a bit scary to be walking through. The menu selection was underwhelming as we were expecting an array of authentic French dishes but honestly apart from a few usual generic French dishes, the rest were questionable. We ordered Hokkaido Scallops, Pâté, Potato Gratin with Gruyere, Duck Confit, and Grouper Fillet. Everything was so disappointing and were tiny portions! Please dont be fooled by the menus descriptions. The 3 Scallops were the size of 50cents, rubbery and frozen! Pâté also slightly bigger than a 50cent coin rolled in sesame seeds (good luck if you don’t like the strong taste of sesame) were served with hard as bricks mini toasts. Duck Confit was the worst I have ever tried. Terribly dry with rubbery skin accompanied with a raw plum? Tiny Fish was so underwhelming and bland. Potato Gratin, meh.. we could hardly taste the Gruyere as there was sooo little of it. By the end of the night, we were surely not going to waste any time on dessert. We basically went home still hungry. So be warned, high prices for stingy portions that are totally not worth it in my opinion.More
