As an expat I am not sure about others and their expectations and what they order when they dine at Cafe Cafe but our meal was very good. We really enjoyed dinner as per pictures. Service was excellent needless to say. The area may not seem ideal for a restaurant but it was worth the ride. We would definitely go again and with friends the next time.

Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and was pleasatly surprised by the place. The ambience of the restaurant is great and I didn't find it too dark. The food we ordered was delicious. I was very happy with my meal. Would definitely recommened.

I love restaurants like this... ones that are truly unexpected, full of character, tucked into little corners. I was super excited when I arrived. It was exactly the type of restaurant I love. I have to say that the menu was rather tempting too as there was quite a wide choice and prices seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. We ordered two starters - the first was reasonable but the Hokkaido scallops were definitely not from Hokkaido. They were terribly small (different sized at that) and horribly rubbery! My main which was the duck confit was ok though I've had better. The dessert which was the vanilla creme brulee was also so-so. When I shared my disappointment at the food, it was apparent that the waiter couldn't do much. He shared that the scallops were frozen but I still wouldn't have expected a 'fine dining' experience to mess up something like that. Would I return? Maybe not. Despite it's charm, the food was underwhelming (as mentioned by another reviewer).

Been there for a dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday, it turned out be a great dinner especially with the romantic ambience. The staff are very courteous and helpful. A good place for a private dinner.

My boyfriend took me there for a date after the restaurant has been recommended by a friend. The restaurant is lovely, romantic and has a French bistro decoration, the staff is quick and friendly. The menu options were very nice and the food well prepared. After the orders were placed, the dishes came very fast. We had a lovely evening and we were very happy with the restaurant, the food and drinks. It is not a cheap restaurant however the food and services worth the price. I will recommend it to my friends and return more times.

The food was adequate, but really didn't live up to its online reputation. If we'd walked in off the street with no expectations, we'd have been really pleased with our find. But since we made a special trip based on all the reviews saying it's amazing, we were rather disappointed. It's decent, credible, traditional French cooking. The price is reasonable. But it's not life-changing, nor worth 45 minutes in a taxi to get there.

Every dish was perfect. The flavors were well balanced and the food cooked just so. It was a delight. Even the house wine was excellent. Yes, it is expensive, but if you want to go to France without having to leave Kuala Lumpur, then it is good value.

I recently frequent Cafe Cafe for a romantic date, the deco is really nice with crystal and lantern dropping down from the ceiling like a chandelier and the place is packed with french decor. Totally underestimated the place from outside. Food was not bad, loves the scallop and seabass as it was really fresh but the duck confit is slightly dry. The table service is really good and they really specified on the wine glass that goes with the wine you order. A pretty good experience.

This place got this 1960s vibe which makes me want to dress all Great-Gatsby. Elegant setting and interior albeit a little stuffy due to close table arrangements. But still, loving it! Cafe Cafe offers a variety of french-inspired cuisine and it works. Went here with my hubs for dinner and we took quite some time to decide what to order. Everything just sounds perfect. For starters I had the stuffed portobello mushroom, which was oh so heavenly. Hubs had the truffled prawn and he kept on asking me to taste the goodness of his appertizer when I was so busy enjoying mine. For mains, I had the fillet of grouper with lentils and quinoa salad on the side. The soft-textured flesh was so full of flavor I almost forgot about the quinoa. Hubs had the oven baked chicken with morels mushroom and he was happy with it. I can assure you he was living the moment not so graciously. To end, we both had the creme brulee. And to those who have been here before, they must have learnt a new trick on how to eat your creme brulee right by the waiters 😋 Now, I use that trick any time I order creme brulee, anywhere. Thanks to the helpful waiters! Ps : If you wanna know the trick, you have to see it for yourself.

Unbelievable food. I was totally blown away by the quality of the food. The service was tip top, presentation of food was good and the flavours of the dishes prepared definitely left a lasting memory in me. The decor could be better though but the quality of the service and food more than makes up for what is lacking in the interior decoration. A 5 out of 5 for me...

Although this restaurant is categorised as fine dining, the prices are towards the affordable end, which is of course good for us . Many people commented that the place is too dim. i do not have an issue with that. i think it is ok for fine dining restaurant to be dimmed. If lighting is an issue, then Marini 57 is even dimmer. However, my opinion is that the place is dim for a reason. the place is actually quite old. the furniture and floors are old. the deco of the restaurant is still impressive however. the restaurant is located at not a very posh area. the service provided by their staffs are good but not excellent. their food is delicious but nothing spectacular. the presentation of the foie gras is disappointing. i may or may not return to this restaurant. the reason i will is because there is really nothing which i dislike about this place but at the same time, there is really no compelling reason for me to return. nothing exciting or remarkable about this place.i guess i was overly pampered by my recent fine dining trip to Marini 57 which has a superb view and better services. To me, cafe cafe is rather average for me.

Decided to try this place after dinner. I assumed a French-themed place would be serving awesome coffee as well. Sadly, the recommended dessert - tiramisu was fantastic but the cappuccino was not. I felt ripped off with a serving of half a shot of espresso with foam and milk. The 'Parisian feel' featured in writeups (only the floor, tables and chairs maybe) is a joke. There were mosquitoes where we sat even. Perhaps the meals on the menu would be better when I visit next.

A 20th anniversary treat courtesy of our kids in this surprising little jewel. Anyone who knows the area of Jln Maharalela will be pleasantly surprised. For those who don't, don't be put off by the parking arrangements and general plainness of the shop lot area. Once inside you feel special...Parisien I'm not sure...just transported to a European kind of atmosphere (it may well feel Australian or American too but having never been to either I can't compare). Heavy decor inside but it works. My wife felt there were too many tables as we were close enough to other couples on either side to steal a prawn or two if they got distracted. On the whole I felt it was just about ok in terms of spacing. We'd had our set meals preselected so just had to order from the extensive wine list. Pretty reasonable prices too for bottles and we settled on a nice rioja. Waiters were pleasant and attentive without being in your face. Each course was spaced out perhaps a synch as 20 to 30 mins but it was a nice place to talk and spend the evening. As for the food it was deliciously fresh - especially the prawns - but a special mention must go to the creme brulee which was as good as we've ever had. Their tiramisu is rightly famous but the brulee was even better. Overall it felt special despite being full and the price while not cheap by any stretch was not outrageous. I can see us treating ourselves again and again here. A strong recommend for that special evening with your most special partner.

Hidden in a little corner of a very busy street, Cafe Cafe has great ambience. Food served were well prepared. We had the escargot which were huge and the way it is prepared is not like the usual which you may find elsewhere. This is not overwhelmed with cheese etc hence I found it good! We also had the fettuccine with smoked salmon, especially like the little bites of pine nuts. Only downside i would say, is there were mozzies under the table! And the section where we sat, by the window, was rather warm. But overall. . It was a memorable dinner date we had.
