Came back to Malaysia after 2 years and visited 2 ox again for the second time. As expected, food was excellent and value for money for what you can get even in Malaysian standard. Definitely can not get truffled mushroom soup with Wagyu beef burger with this type of price in US.
The chocolate torte was so addictive, will come back tomorrow for another one.
Service level comparable to fine dining and a perfect date spot or special celebration day with loved ones.

When I reseved the table for my first visit of the restaurant I already noted that they were really friendly. When entering the restaurant I rigtht away liked the interior and the modern French bistro ambiance. Sevice was very attentive and friendly and also food was really good and authentic and also the wine recommendatuon was good. Will soon go there again.

We arrived early and was settled in by our host. Service and hospitality was good. They helped us with some recommendations of our selections. The meal was a gastronomic experience of French cuisines. The baguette with basil was refreshing and baguette was warm and crispy, smells nice too. Enjoyed the cauliflower dish, simple but full of aroma and tasted so natural with it’s sweetness. Love the lobster soup, rich and flavourful. The duck confit was the best, it’s meat was so tender and moist inside. Lastly, dessert was the awesome as it’s taste was rich and not too sweet.

I’ve had the 2Ox on my list of places to visit for a while. Sadly, and just like our meals, it wasn’t worth the wait.
Although we weren’t in a particular rush, we did want to eat on the same day that we arrived in the restaurant. Ok I’m exaggerating for dramatic/comedic effect but still 1hr 10 minutes from ordering to receiving our main courses was pushing the limits of our patience a little.
And then when the food finally emerged from the glacially paced kitchen it was pretty average to say the least.
Both the lamb and the scallops we over-cooked which probably shouldn’t have been a surprise considering how long they had spent in the kitchen!
Aside from the mains the Ratatouille starter, although tasty, seemed to have been drowned in a bath of oil prior to making its way to our table.
To be honest the free bread and basil dip were the nicest part of the meal.
The staff were very nice and apologised for the shortcomings of the kitchen and did remove two drinks from the final bill but still RM 277 for two very poor main courses plus one small oily starter and a glass of Tiger left a bad taste.
Sorry 2Ox but I won’t be back...

Great place visited on a rainy Friday evening and had a delicious meal with the most fantastic flavors for the salmon and also chicken dishes while the chocolate deserts were delicious. Nice service and a lovely interior. Give it a try...

Dinner - a wonderful evening! A relaxed and excellent meal. The service was excellent- always aware but never intrusive.
We had the snail and the foie gras for appetizers - both very well prepared. For main we had the scallops, fresh and nicely seared, and the bouillabaisse filled with seafood in a very tasteful broth.
Dessert was a light and excellent soufflé.
Highly recommend for a very pleasant evening meal.

A truly fantastic restaurant with fabulous food and service. We visited several times and enjoyed each visit equally. The 3 course menu was amazing. Specifically, the French onion soup and lamb was phenomenal. The salmon was beyond amazing. The staff, including RizwanAli, were just as amazing, friendly, flexible and welcoming. An absolute delight of a restuarant.

Delicious food and cocktail. Nice ambience...great service. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I just couldnt figure out what went into the cuisine, it wqs a perfect blend . Even the bread served was crisp to perfection. Kudos to the chef. Thoroughly enjoyed basil bomb and champagne cocktail. The torte with dark choc was a nice way to end the fabulous everning.

Tonight is the second time my wife and I dined at 2OX. We were not disappointed the first time; we certainly were not disappointed this evening as well. Kudos to Chef Philippe for once again churning out an excellent and amazing menu. (He is also such a friendly person, and someone who obviously takes pride in his craft.) A special shout also to the excellent staff, especially Imran, who took such good care of us. Thank you. We will definitely be back. 😊

After a 40-minute attempt, including 28 phone dialing’s to make a reservation…I GAVE UP…and I am SO GLAD that I did…in my attempt to eat at Restaurant “X” elsewhere in KL.
Super frustrated, I searched TripAdvisor for an alternate FRENCH RESTAURANT. AS A former 3.5-year resident of Paris, I was craving a few things…1) great TRADITIONAL French food, 2) a place to grab that nice meal on a casual Saturday and 3) to treat two friends after a year of Covid-mania!
Our reservation for three was made a week ahead of time. We entered at 12:30, first one’s there and were given a table we did not like. “May we change tables please?” “Yes…how about the window?”…YES nicer! HAMMER HAMMER HAMMER! The hammering next door was on the other side of the wall (reno of the next-door shop)…and we asked them to have them stop…and they did! RELEIVED!
The space has a large main dining space and a somewhat separate bar are. The wood floors, bright white walls showcasing colorful art, and rich red velour dividing curtains make for a bright, and comfortable space.
Seeing that my friend owns a fine wine import business in KL, he surprised me with two very nice French reds, 2013 and 2014 Bordeaux! The corkage fee is RM80 per bottle and we had some nice wine so worth it. We two arrived first while our third trailed us a bit, so we had some Pellegrino and opened a bottle of wine to let it breath.
The Lunch menu has TWO fixed-prix menus, PLUS ala carte, plus a large wine and drinks list. The fixed RM140 menu is truly an offering of a starter, main course and a desert. The second RM170 fixed menu offers a starter, a main with a bit extra RM for three of the mains (a bit sneaky we thought). A lovely bread and Pesto Olive Oil dip were brought…perhaps a bit too late.
We all three ordered a la carte…as we wanted to try some other things to share like the ratatouille (we ordered to share among three, perfect!).
Our selections:
We shared two orders of the Ratatouille and a large Pellegrino.
1) Lobster Bisque > the Larger Wagyu steak w potatoes and gravy > Crepes Suzette > Double Espresso
2) French Onion Soup Souffle > Lobster Ravioli > Crepes Suzette > An Espresso
3) French Onion Soup Souffle > the Larger Wagyu steak > Crepes Suzette > A Double Sambuca
ALL the dishes were delicious…the service staff, neatly dressed in black, were attentive, friendly, and responsive. My meal arrived a bit on the cold side and I sent it back for a fast zap, something to address.
We were at our table from 12:30 to 3:00 and never felt rushed…until we were admittedly a bit surprised to learn that the kitchen closing at 3:00pm meant we also had to evacuate the premises…while still having sambuca or wine or espresso still to consume. The time frames painted on the front door perhaps needs editing. We were welcome to finish our drinks on the front terrace, which we did, while we ordered a grab home.
I would definitely consider this ONE OF THE VERY BEST MEALS that I have enjoyed in 6+ years in KL.
I will definitely return. The menu’s appeal means that it is likely meal options, water, wine and coffees may make a small dent in the wallet, so choose wisely and savor the meal.
