Shangtung is among the oldest Chinese restos in Manila, make that among the oldest restos in Manila of any type. Think along the lines of Ma Mon Luk, Sa Lido, Savory, Sincerity etc. First time to eat here. We ordered fish lip soup, shrimp fried rice, oyster cake, crab omelette, a shrimp dish. All are reasonably good. If one wants... More

We had the Crispy Pansit Canton, Hot Sour Soup Fried Chicken and Yang Chow Fried Rice. I love the Crispy pansit Canton. The hot sour soup is missing something - the sourness. I prefer Mann Hann's Hot Sour Soup. Their Fried Chicken has a taste na nakakaumay. Yang Chow: Ok.

Just order this two on the menu. Happy tummy already. Fried chicken is eaten with its sweet n sour sauce. Soup #1 is actually hot n sour soup but not your typical hot n sour soup.

Shantung has been historically my husband's family's all time fave restaurant. No doubt why! He brought me here for the third time and the food always makes me salivate. I highly recommend the shrimp balls and bamboo shoots with beef. The place is nice, accesible and provides a great service. Definitely, this restaurant will be known to our family's succeeding... We've been eating at Shantung since the 80's and I can say that the food tasted better before. If you must eat here, try their fried chicken and hot and sour soup, their bestsellers, and yes, still delicious. Shantung is not a cheap place to eat. Their half fried chicken alone (around 8 pieces) would cost you PHP200. Steamed fish... More

I first came across the word "Shantung" in Amy Tan's novel "The Joy Luck Club," which, to put it simply, refers to a teahouse where attractive, young Chinese women sing to entertain patrons. My grandmother and I accepted an invitation from our next-door neighbor, a Filipino-Chinese family, who recently welcomed a baby boy as a blessed new addition to their... More

My family's been going here since the 80's and have been craving for their dishes every now and then. Our favorites are the fried chicken with the yummy sweet and sour sauce, shredded pork szechuan style in mantou breah, fried dumplings and hot and sour soup (for the adults) and crab and corn soup (for the kids). Some of their... More

Last Sunday, my eldest sister and her daughter together with my dad and brother couldn't decide on a place to eat for lunch. My brother suggested we try Shantung Restaurant in West Avenue. I knew about this place because we used to eat at the original restaurant in Echague when we kids. It has been more than 30 years since... More
