Two servings of cold soba isn't enough! Must try either Zaru Plain Soba or Zaru Cha Soba. No place serves better soba! Other must-try dishes are: 1. Sukiyaki double (rice meal); 2. Tilapia tatsuta; 3. Chicken terriyaki; 4. Bonito cheese rice sandwich. 5. Yaki udon:...More

Description
Zaan is a combination of two Japanese characters: "za," means tea, and "an" means a retreat or hermitage. Tea and other refreshments are served in a tea house (or tea room). The tea house as center of social interaction is an integral part of the Zaan concept. At Zaan Japanese Tea House, we serve high quality Japanese tea and sweets (wagashi), homey rice, amen, soba and udon meals, our special home-made ice cream. Try our wagashi and feel connected with the Japanese customs and traditions that underscore the rhythm of daily life, season to season. Each piece evokes the season and landscape of Japan through different shapes, colors, and designs. Takeout is available for onigiri, soboro rice and wagashi. We also offer brewed local organic coffee (hot or iced); TsokoFino, hand-crafted pili & mango dark chocolate, made in Zaan;and KapeFino, Benguet coffee bean chocolate. TsokoFino is sold in handsome boxes ideal as gifts to overseas friends and associates, as well as for special occasions, or simply a treat to oneself. We also retail an assortment of pili nut products, different types of Japanese tea, and local coffee under the PiliFino label. You can also experience the tea ceremony in an casual atmosphere in Matcha Traditional where matcha is prepared and served with wagashi in the Japanese-style mat space, if you wish. Very affordable!
