We've eaten at Skippers since it first opened. It's not the same. The last few times we've been there the seafood has been overcooked. You can tell that by the dark shade of brown of the fried crust. Their fries are thick, heavy, mealy, and bland. The slaw is also bland. The breading used to be lighter. Overall there's nothing... More

We went to Skippers in Good Friday. As expected, it was busy! The ordering was quick and the staff was very friendly. The wait for our food to be delivered to our table was a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the Fish n' Chips. The fish was "melt-in-your-mouth"! It was great and the French fries were delicious. The kids... More

Friday during Lent means fish for dinner. We'd seen Skippers while driving back and forth, and decided to try it tonight. Great choice! I had the catfish platter, and was very pleased with it. 4 good sized catfish portions, hush puppies, fries and cole slaw. My husband had a pick 2 platter with cod and clam strips, also served with... More

The prices were reasonable and great fried food! There were seats to dine. You ordered, sat down, and they delivered food to your table.

So I grabbed a coney (they offer Hoffman's brand from Syracuse NY) and a popcorn shrimp basket with onion rings - the coney was great, reminiscent of Hides in Liverpool. I then made the mistake of trying the onion rings. They were so good, I gobbled them all up and by the time I was done had left no room... More

When Skipper's Fish Fry first opened they were terrific...but now, they're just mediocre at best. Their food used to be reminiscent of seafood found up in New England or in Calabash, NC -lightly battered and fresh cooked. In fact, when they first opened they had fried whole-belly clams - something y'all Yanks would know about. I used to order take... More

Before my last visit to Skippers, I had had positive experiences. But my first time sitting at a table with a friend of another race, when I asked for more napkins, the young man who waited on us, pretty much threw the napkins on the table from a distance, no smile, nothing. My friend and I looked at each other... More

Having lived in Massachusetts for over 2 decades, I was hoping this place would bring back those well known seafood flavors and aromas. The fish was OK, not big in taste but freshly done. The fries were soggy, starchy and needed slathering in ketchup to be eaten. The place is OK, and the decor does resemble the seafood small restaurants... More
