No reservations accepted but we were told to get right over and there would be no wait! We did and got seated immediately! The music was just right. The service was excellent. The menu was just enough. And the food was excellent

Visiting Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival we went to the Brickroom for dinner . Didn’t have reservation but was seated quite quickly . My dinner companion had a Martini , the last time I saw a martini glass that small was in a 1930’s...movie . ! We liked the ambiance and vibe. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak with garlic mashed potatoes and something called tobacco onions. There was a large portion of mashed potatoes and about 3 or 4 slices of flat iron and everything was obscured by the fried tobacco onions . My companion ordered Crispy Szechuan Pork Ribs but shortly realized he was not to eat any spicy food . He asked our server if it was ok to change his order since it was only a few moments . She checked with the kitchen and they said it was ok ..no problem. When my dinner arrived we expected his hamburger to arrive also . Nooo it didn’t come at all until I was finished with my meal …we asked on numerous times about where was the burger. His burger came when the server was removing my dirty plate. The chef came out an said my companion changed his order so his order went to end of the line ( regardless if he is dining with someone else or even a group ) the server should have told him his burger would take a half hour and he could stayed with his original order . But really if both of our meals are on the same ticket then both meals should come at the same time . The chefs explanation didn’t hold water . But they did remove my companions Martini off the bill . But when two people dine out they have a reasonable expectation they will dine together .More
Great vibe. Nice waiters/bartenders. Got the dirty fries and a vieux carre and it was awesome! The affogato w hazelnut chocolate crust over the ice cream was awesome too. I’d go back.
My husband and I visited for a cocktail and “snack” after walking through Lithia Park. We were greeted quickly and seated in a great seat. It was right around lunch time, and it wasn’t super busy. My husband ordered bourbon and I had a mimosa...to drink. I had the avocado toast (was tasty, but needed a bit of salt), and my husband had the pretzel with fondue. It was very good! The decor is super cool and the vibe relaxed. Loved our visit! Will definitely return the next time we’re in Ashland.More
Had dinner there late November. Despite the place being half full, the hostess led the 2 of us back to a teeny table at end of bar section next to the bathrooms. The type of area that most decent restaurants would consider to be the...overflow area. Turns out that is where she directed all parties of two to sit. It was cramped, noisy, and felt fairly unsafe as far as virus exposure due to all of the bathroom traffic passing next to the tables. In the meantime large booths in the area sat empty, although they eventually were filled with parties of more than two, who also appeared to be friends of the restaurant staff. We watched as their drink orders were filled 10 minutes before ours, even though ours were placed first. Since our teeny table was not large enough for large dinner plates, we opted to order small plates. Despite the menu’s promises of unique flavors, the food was bland and uninspired, quite disappointing. Looking around, the most popular dish seemed to be French fries, so maybe that should have been a clue. While waiting for our food, a couple was led back to our area. They stated a preference for a booth and were told those were only for more than two. The customer stated she was a long time customer and would not return due to this new seating policy. So it sounds like parties of two are relegated to the tiny tables at the back of the bar. We will join that long time customer in not returning. There are so many other options in Ashland.More
Not horribly expensive but not good priced for what it was. Sandwich was dry as hell and once we ordered we didnt see our waitress again. Had to get a water, which she didnt bring us at first, from another person not our waitress. Super...disappointing ate my whole sandwich without my cheese and lettuce which i couldnt complain to our waitress since she disappeared. Threw the check onto our table as the only other thing she did for us. SUPER rude staff not great food for that price. Ridiculous. My grandmother wanted to go to lunch while she visited, ruined our day.More
We are from out of state and came here for dinner at 8:30. Our minor, age 12 was with us. They served us and at 9:00 informed us that he (the minor) would have to leave because it becomes a bar at 9:00 under their...liquor license. While I don't understand the law, it is what it is. But the way they handled it, with the manager coming out and asking us to leave, was beyond bad. I can only say that this joint wants your money and doesn't give one rip about a good customer experience. Please, please, please do not go here if you want a pleasant time. The staff is beyond rude.More
Great food and service. Enjoyed the root beer float.. Worth the stop on our way south. Deck was nice.
Being the Memorial Day holiday, we were afraid it would be difficult to find a lunch spot without reservations. Actually the hard part was finding a parking spot; we were only behind another couple at the restaurant & were seated almost immediately. We had the...choice of ordering from the (limited) breakfast menu & better lunch menu. The food portions were just right & priced reasonably. Atmosphere was really nice - spacious & decorated well. I deducted 1 star for the stair-climbing to get to the 2nd floor locationMore
The service was awesome, and the food was great. Enjoyed a nice evening eating on the back terrace. Will return again
Have eaten several times dinner and lunch are vey good, "brickfast" just ok heurvos rancheros was skimpy and mimosas were flat Menu layout and font not well suited for online phone viewing needs categories and better font contrast
A delicious meal and wonderful experience all round. We went for an impromptu meal, not really sure what to expect. What transpired was a great combination of some of our favourite dishes. For apps, we shared the Northwest salad, which was a fantastic introduction to...the menu. For our entrees, we shared the steak and ravioli (no longer on the menu), both delicious meals and complementary of each other. It was pleasing to see the portion sizes were quite large, which in my eyes justified the price on some of the menu items. We finished off with the tiramisu, which is a must have for me if it’s ever on the menu. It didn’t disappoint! If you’re looking to complement your meal with an alcoholic treat, I recommend the Bee Sting - so nice I ordered it twice! Overall, a great experience and we’re looking forward to going back.More
Brickroom is a favorite restaurant and we make a point of stopping in Ashland just to eat here. We love the breakfast/brunch menu as well as the dinner menu. Food is always delicious and cocktails are creative. My husband likes the beer selections also. We...have always been treated courteously and the service is excellent. Love the ambiance and trendy decor. I highly recommend this restaurant, one of our favorites!More
Great service, nice vibe but the food was good to not good. The Southwest Salad was terrific - served with a nice dressing and a LOT of avocado. The bulgogi was 'ok'. The 'pretzel and fondue' was not a pretzel it was sliced toasted bread...served with something that was not fondue - it was more like butter and cream - not sure there was any cheese in it! I asked for the 'grilled chicken breast' for my salad and was provided a plate of chopped up chicken in a sauce that tasted like ketchup mixed with something - it was not good.More
For being a rather empty establishment, relatively speaking, when I went, they certainly seemed to take a while. The food wasn't every good (I had the pulled pork sandwich). I was greasy and the small salad wasn't really fresh. One pet-peeve of mine (and I...know I'm old skool) is not getting physical menus. I don't want to download the tiny menu on my phone and scroll around. I want it large, readable, and in my hands. So, that is frustrating to have to ask for one and then wait. Just present it from the get go. Wipe it down afterwards. I went here because my entire family had such a great experience there about 4-5 years ago. It lost a lot of it's charm. Truthfully, I regret not going to Louie's about 50 feet away.More
