We had this whole place to ourselves and it was delicious! I split the Green Chile Mac'n Cheese Burger....oh my gosh! It was so good. And don't forget the cheese fries! A small is plenty for 4 people!

Great place for lunch. Not a place to have a private conversation, but the food is amazing and the menu has something for everyone. Definitely order fries and get the homemade ranch to go with them.

Delicious burgers and cold beer!! We had the buffalo burger from the ranch in Armarillo...can't get fresher than that! Friendly service and been in business since 1946!!! Thanks for the recommendation Joe from the Alibates Flint National Quarries Monument Visitor Center!!!

A great old-fashioned burger & beer place. Friendly employees, terrific food, nothing frozen. Lots of regulars. Would definitely recommend.

Small place that has cold beer and good burgers. Nothing fancy. Worth stopping at. Bar stools were leaned up on bar, I thought they were saved for someone - they weren't.

They have a great green chili burger and are right next door to the golden light cantina - which has live music on the weekends and cheap beer.

Had Dr appointment at late noontime so hungry. I had heard of this place. Was looking for Chicken Fry no luck but ONE of the best burger I've had in ages. Two of us split a small order of fries. They were fresh and so....good. Saw a order of chilies cheese fries, they are on my to eat list.

They claim to be the oldest continuously operating restaurant on Route 66 (est. 1946), so we had to go. We had Flagstaff Pie (aka Frito Pie) and a burger with green chili mac and cheese on it. Both were delicious. They are known for burgers and the reputation is justified. Staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient. Sodas are huge. We... More

I have driven by this place many times and then asked others if they had eaten here. Everyone who had eaten there said it was one of the best burgers in Amarillo. Decided to try with a friend and we were not disappointed. The burgers are very good and the buns are also put on the grill which adds flavor.... More

Golden Light made the 'bucket list' of Texas Diners and is well worth a visit, not just for locals but for those Texans heading to New Mexico. Its on the old 'Route 66' just a couple of miles north of Interstate I-40 on 6th Avenue. Its a hole in the wall, but puts out consistently great burgers. My favorite is... More
