Was greeted with a Howdy and escorted to our table. The tables were spaced every other to open to allow for social distancing. Server was prompt and efficient. Our drinks arrived quick. Got to watch some chap eat one of their famous 72 ounce steaks...and beat the timer! Place offers excellent steaks and a fun atmosphere at A reasonable price. Walked out full and entertained.More

Try the fried pickles!! They are huge and delicious. We didn't eat them all because we wanted to have room for our dinner. My grilled chicken sandwich was juicy and very good. My husbands beef tips and mashed potatoes were also yummy. The wandering musicians...add a real TX atmosphere and they played "Amarillo by Morning" at my request. It was awesome! If you're in Amarillo, definitely check this landmark out.More

What is better than being in Texas, eating some fried pickles and listening to George Strait music? Love to hear that you had a great time with us! Thank you for the feedback and hope to see you again soon.

My family always stops here when driving through Amarillo. We love the gift shop, beer, and especially the fudge. However, we will not be back until the pandemic is over. They do a terrible job of attempting to follow COVID safety protocol.

This was a fun place to eat, steaks were great. Service was good. Very busy and got seated right away. Our first table was rocking so bad we wouldn’t have been able to set down our drinks. They were willing to move us and life...was better.More

Great food but the place was packed! I also loved the serenading cowboy! Too packed! We ordered ribs, steak, and a brisket sandwich. The food was good and the service was great! Do not go here if social distancing is a priority for you and...your family.More

Absolutely unique dining experience, especially for those visiting Texas the first time. The gift shop, the ice cream bar definitely good additions. The food was great but I suggest you go all the way and order the big steak for a unique experience. From your...table you can watch the chef grill the big steaks, very appetizing smell. The host was very friendly and the waiter was very accommodating. Walk around after dining to enjoy the ambience. Next time I am there, I will ask to be seated on the second floor.More

This is a must do if you have a Texas Bucket List you are working on. I really didn't think it would have been that good. Love the concept and I can now understand the draw. Friendly service, good food and great environment.

This was the worse place I’ve ever eaten. We got drawn in by the excitement of the place but it’s just a tourist trap. The only COVID precautions they have are the staff wearing masks. There is ZERO social distancing. We had been on the...road for most of the day with a party of 10 and were starving. The prices may be cheap but you get what you pay for. The service is horrible. Had to wave our server down multiple times for things as simple as water refills when the food takes so very long to come out. We had multiple different entrees and they were all blah but cannot get past the fact that my sons kid cheeseburger was burnt to a crisp, inedible. I had the New York strip medium rare and as you can see from the pictures it was beyond rare. The cheesy potatoes were cold and not cooked through (raw potato crunch). When I tried to get our waitress’ attention to get my son a new entree she snapped at me. She later tried to apologize but there was no reason for her attitude towards me. Now, how they were able to serve a completely rare steak with zero juice that was dry and flavorless as cardboard is beyond me. There is nothing worthy of trying at this place. They do have the 72 oz steak challenge which a few people were trying, again, no social distancing, but they were not able to finish it, I’m sure because it’s like eating jerky.More

We follow the Texas COVID regulations and have been inspected and approve by local officials. For our guest that feel uncomfortable being in public places, we do offer a take out service. Your steak did appear to be on the rare side, we do apologize...More

Yes. They have a big tent in the back outside with water misters and fans going. You have to order takeout from the restaurant and bring it to the tent yourself. There was no waiter service in the tent when we were there... More

Howdy! Service dogs are welcomed in the restaurant, however, we ask that all other well behaved dogs sit in our outdoor beer garden.

You order the challenge from the menu so it is a very random event.
