Love this restaurant. I was with a group of 10 or 12 people. The service was great. The fried chicken was the ultimate--best I've had. The chef came to our table to make sure everyone was happy. A very nice gesture and one you don't often see.

The gluten free fish was delicious! They were so happy to work with my food allergies. I felt welcomed. And that is not true in many places when you need special accommodations. Loved it!

Nice lunch menu and outdoor seating were perfect after a morning of seminars. The chicken tenders basket with jalapeño aioli were very good. Good spot.

We chose to sit at the bar in front of the kitchen, where we were entertained by Dorothy. She stopped to show us each of the new dishes as they came out. We had the collards. Which I actually liked. I wanted to try the Brie Very good... loved the Nacho Mamma's Oysters. All in all great fun, great atmosphere and... More

Good ambience and atmosphere for a modern pub/bar. Larger space inside than it appears from the street. Diverse selection of seating options (long bar, tall tables, short tables). Not too loud. Excellent private dining/corporate space in the basement. Well decorated, though could be used for diverse purposes. Their catering was very good. Good wine selection as well. Given the options... We stopped in after other venues and were most pleased with the food and wine. A fun place with folks having a great time it also has a killer wine list at very reasonable prices. I ate from the dessert menu and it had an outstanding blackberry tort that more closely resembled a large piece of cake. Fabulous. Go if... More

We had a nice dinner here. The food was delish. Ordered the baked Brie to start and then fried chicken, mac n cheese, and a couple of other starters as our meal; the fried chicken and Mac n cheese are amazing! So delicious. We had 7:00 reservations. Upon arriving (to a pretty empty restaurant), we were told by the young... More

Stayed at the Hyatt Place next door and didn't expect much from the Wine Dive. The food was excellent, service friendly and their Happy Hour had great prices on libations. I recommend the Wine Dive as it lives up to it's "down" name.

Good food. Good service. Decent wine selection. Some creative flights. It can be quite loud, so don't expect a romantic cozy atmosphere. It is downtown, near the convention center and some of the major hotels, so it can be crowded and I felt that it was a bit expensive (probably due to the location). Parking is a pain, so plan... There's nothing wrong with sipping remarkable wine to a bit of rock n' roll in the Live Music Capital of the World is there? Nah, we didn't think so either. Welcome to MAX's Wine Dive Austin. Perched on the corner of 2nd Street and San Jacinto Blvd., a stone's throw from The Austin Convention Center and a stroll from The Texas State Capital Building, MAX's Wine Dive is the stop for your dining experience in the heart of downtown Austin. Embracing the music that pumps Austin's veins, MAX's Wine Dive goes above and beyond what you ever thought a wine bar or restaurant was supposed to be. With a vast array of gourmet comfort food with a twist, locally sourced farm to table taste bud tacklers from Executive Chef Erica Beneke (yeah, you may know her as the winner of Chopped), and a wine list that includes fan favorite labels, unique and interesting selections and some privately sourced options, we mean to leave our mark on the restaurant and wine bar scene. MAX's Wine Dive Austin is one of the largest Wine Dives due to the tremendous event space downstairs known as "The Underground." Stretching more than 6,000 square feet beneath the restaurant and our two neighboring establishments, "The Underground" is comprised of three separate rooms, all varying in size and décor. "The Lounge" is home to our high-end wine cellar and lockers, and is the perfect space for private diners, business meetings or wine socials. "The Vintage" offers a bit more room for larger affairs such as anniversary and birthday parties or corporate work gatherings. Lastly, our "Grand Reserve", which is our largest space, can accommodate anything from weddings to rehearsal dinners, to large-scale celebrations of any sort! Whether you're celebrating in "The Underground" or hanging out upstairs and marveling over Chef Erica's delectable dishes, we are here to ensure you have a memorable experience. So if you're catching some of Austin's live music up on 6th Street, looking for some light bites and bubbles after a walk around Lady Bird Lake or coming in from seeing our famous Austin Bats on the Congress Street Bridge, be sure to hit up our comfortable and cool atmosphere. We will be the restaurant with aromas of Grandma's cooking wafting outside of the door, and Johnny Cash slinging Folsom Prison banter over our speakers.
