Lovely venue but really not great food. Curry was bland even when I ordered desi and when I asked for spice they brought a sauce which was chilli paste and water. I asked if they had fresh chilli and was told they do not. An Indian restaurant that had no fresh chillis I guess that is why the flavor was... More

Although I am not a huge Indian cuisine aficionado, I visited here on the advice of a friend , and was glad I did. Food was tasty and well-seasoned, and portion sizes were perfect. Service was only so-so.

Went down in Rainey Street to go to Bangers, but it was so damn busy (long wait line of 2 hours) we searched for another place to eat, this was a nice surprise, food was excellent, and the service was also good, we'd go again. One bad thing, the clear plastic walls, don't keep birds from flying all over and... More

If you like Indian food this is the place for you. Vegetarian and chicken dishes are made to order. Terrific naan. The four of us had a chicken tandoori with dal, vegetable tikka masala and chicken rogan josh.

Casual dining facility with delicious indian food. Any restaurant on Rainey St will have a long wait, just need to decide what you want to wait for. Eclectic, very Austin-vibe ish location

After a few beers next door, we were hungry and this spot smelled sooo good from the street. We stopped in and order Chicken Masala and a yogurt- based curry. The waitress was very helpful, especially considering our ignorance of Indian cuisine. The food was really good! Spicy means spicy, so, if you are a bit hesitant about hot food,... More

Typical Austin-Rainey Street spot with good food at a reasonable price. $103 for 4 adults, 3 kids, wine and beer. Vindaloo and saag good. Beignet-type dessert not so much. Christine did a great job recommending for the kids and providing guidance on spiciness of food. Great service and atmosphere. Probable go back after sampling rest of Rainey Street.

We were there at the lunch time before Christmas and ordered a lamb curry & kinds of grilled fish. The fish was a little bit burnt, the amount of the dishes wasn't enough for even small two persons. But the prices were way expensive compared with other Indian restaurants e.g " bombay bistro" And besides, there was several types of... More

Rainey Street is a little Second World, but a lot of fun. G'Raj Mahal was delicious. Everything we got was vegetarian.

Being from the UK I was wary about the standard of the Indian food in Texas, but this place was a real find. Excellent food at reasonable prices and lovely service from Will. We sat outside with a heat lamp and it was just lovely. Rainey St is fun, houses converted into bars and restaurants - I would definitely recommend... More
