We went on a Monday night and saw many great singers/musicians. The food is Indian Fusion and offers some interesting selections. There is an extensive beer menu and many excellent beers on draft.

We stopped in here for lunch/drinks when we first arrived in Austin. Beer selection is fantastic and the bar tender was very knowledgeable. Food was good, sort of a unique combination of themes. The staff and fellow patrons also gave great advice to plan the rest of our trip.

The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The draught beer selection was substantial and the bartender helpful with advice and tasters. Dinner was flavorful and prepared exactly as requested. It seemed to me like a mix of southern and Indian. I am not a big Indian fan and enjoyed Whip In.

As a visitor from Europe I love the quirkiness of places like this... part restaurant, part sore...part outside 'hanging' area. There's a great energy about the place and the appetizers (humous especially) are superb. I had heard of nay of the beers... but I like that... dive in !

I recently visited Whip In and really liked the hippie ambience. Whip In's menu is a fusion of Indian, american and mediterranean food and they offer a wide variety of Indian craft beer's. Our group ordered a lot of stuff and I tried all the items ordered. I personally liked the "Travis Heights" which is a samosa filling sandwich wrap.... More

Drove by this place for years and finally decided to stop. What a cool place. A fantastic array of beer selections. An Indian style restaurant with many options of rice bowls and naan sandwiches. Nice atmosphere. Good parking. Has takeout if you are in a hurry.

Full disclosure: I know the chef here. I first visited WhipIn about a year and a half ago. I had heard about it and wanted to see what it's like. From the outside, then, you would probably not have expected it to be much in the way of ambience and good food, but a great place for a beer, and... More

Great selection of beers that changes regularly. Tap take overs and pint nights keep things interesting. I'm told there is music here... I don't do crowds so I don't stick around for that kind of thing!

Found this place when looking for a place to grab a beer after picking up a friend at the Austin airport. Built from an old filling station they now pack in over sixty taps of craft beer, roughly 300 bottled crafts along with wine and food from India if you're hungry. Along with a couple of unique craft drafts we... More
