The menu here is pretty standard - tacos, tamales, enchiladas - the prices are low and the food is pretty good. Buy a cool calendar with amazing artwork - a great souvenir! I have been collecting them for years.

We had dinner here on a recent visit to Austin. The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside and it is on a busy street. But the people who worked there were friendly and the food was very good and inexpensive. We were seated immediately upon arrival although the tables did fill up fairly fast on a Friday... More

I used to eat there at least twice a week. Knew the family. The sons made the best top shelf margaritas in Austin and their pork was to die for, a five star anyway. The calendars were wonderful at Xmas and the place was great, funky but great. Yesterday i returned for the first time in maybe ten years of... More

Met a friend for lunch, my first visit here. Immediately seated at noon, fresh, crispy tostados served with good spicy salsa! Menu was extensive, and I ordered cabrito which I have not had in a long time. My friend had the chile relleno that he said was like his mother made ( he is from Mexico ). Generous serving of... This is a regular lunch stop for many people who live and work in Austin, Texas. Some dine weekly - or more often! Family owned and operated. Inexpensive, quick lunch - tea and dessert included! Don't expect fancy atmosphere, or frilly extras, just basic good, filling food - fresh chips and delicious salsa. Parking fills up quickly, as do the... More

This is a local eatery that we were told had some of the best Tex-Mex in Austin. I beg to differ. It was good - not great. Entrees are priced reasonably, but the drink prices are a little high. Parking can be difficult too.

Not many of these old Tex-Mex places are left and this one has been around since 1963. They claim they were the first Mexican restaurant in town with a vegetarian option and theirs were the first mushroom and spinach enchiladas I had period. Their pralines are sticky and weird which is sad because all Tex Mex places of this period... More

Love the salsa and chips...always my measure of great Tex-Mex. Good portions although fajitas could be a bit larger but the taste was awesome.

Owners are great. They seemed to take personal concern in our experience and the salsa was fantastic.
