This restaurant is located inside the Renaissance Hotel Austin. Wide open space in the atrium. Food was really good. I had the mahi mahi with a lemon butter sauce and grilled asparagus. It was wonderful. My friend had the rigatoni pasta with sausage and shrimp and loved it. She got a flight of 3 creme brules and they were very... More

Was here for a conference, had both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast service was fast, friendly, and very good. Food was good, and an average price. Had some nice items on the menu. Dinner options were limited, and just okay. However, service was consistently good with nice atmosphere for business or probably romance as well. If you have to eat here,... More

Late getting valentines reservations (111forks @9) so decided to take the 5:30 seating with the kids. 1.5 hrs later and one burnt kid burger, a sparkling glass of white wine served in a red wine glass and salty fish tacos I've had it! Just wanted a filler so the kids won't starve by 9 but what an epic fail! So... More

Met a client here and was really surprised at the quality, flavor and great ambiance of the place. I would have driven right on by. Country cooking. Hamburgers, chicken fried steaks, and such make this a comfort-food stop. The owner is in the kitchen usually, and he cooks up some mighty fine dishes. I've been back several times in the... More

We went for breakfast and my husband enjoyed a Mexican dish with an egg on top of a tortilla with ranchero sauce and I had an omelet. Nice food, nice service and great view.

Generally, you don't expect to find good food in chain hotel restaurants. Mostly it's decent enough, but nothing to get excited about. Banderas was a pleasant exception - the food was very good!

Had dinner and lunch here while at a conference. While the menu isn't expansive or cutting edge, it's very good. The Salmon Caesar salad was just wonderful. A real surprise. Excellent chardonnay with it. Next day at lunch I enjoyed the the house soup a mexican cheese soup. So good I can't remember what else I ate. Outstanding. Warm, beautiful... More

I ate at Banderas while staying at the Renaissance Austin hotel. It is conveniently located just off the lobby of the hotel. The menu is limited and unadventurous. My meal was fine and service was good.
