Looking for something unique to celebrate a 70th birthday, we selected Cedar Knoll Inn, Mt. Vernon. It was superb with romantic subset vista on the Potomac, comfortable almost 'cozy' atmosphere and excellent menu selection. The wait service seemed a bit immature, but the cuisine more than compensated. The key lime strawberry dessert was a bit dry, but the lemon ginger... More

Delighted that Cedar Knoll is back after a long absence and quite an improved menu. Beautiful view of the Potomac, attentive service, and delicious menu choices. My husband and I love this location on a warm weather drive out the GW parkway in our '66 Mustang convertible. For far too long the restaurant was under what seemed an endless renovation.... More

Because of previous ownership and poor quality food, had not been in years. Heard there was new ownership and a chef preparing some fine food, so decided to try again. it has always been a notable place to be on the river. Food was excellent and wine list while not lengthy was well priced including a large number of "by... More

Located on a small bluff overlooking the Potomac River just a few minutes north of Mt. Vernon this place has easy parking, a quiet atmosphere and five star employees. The small bar area at the entrance is so comfortable and pleasant that we always seem to meet/make new friends. Customers range from rich and famous to locals and curious people... More

A beautiful sunny day and we had lunch in the dining room overlooking the Potomac. Fun to watch all those walking and biking along the Potomac as we visited and enjoyed a delicious late lunch. Always a great view and dinner at sunset is spectacular. We met Andrew the owner and they are there to please. I feel certain they... More

Step into early19th century home and enjoy first quality food and service experience , uncrowded and unhurried with delicious local food and quiet surroundings .Oysters served various ways. Rockfish was super fresh and a generous portion, my wife's filet excellent. Full bar and House french Pinot only $32.00 a bottle. Sinfully great dessert with merengue. Be back next DC trip.

I had heard that Cedar Knoll had really improved over the last year or so. It lived up to the hype today. With a fantastic view of the Potomac, we enjoyed a fantastic brunch (steak frites and artichokes and asparagus) and attentive service. The drink list offered a great mix of Virginia options for beer and wine and many other... More

I was so excited to return for another dinner given that our first visit was outstanding. An attention to detail with staff who were excited about their jobs and giving us the best possible experience. Our first visit was presented like a ceremony with a special table moved in front of the main fireplace. I wish I could say the... More

This was my second time to enjoy a weekend lunch at Cedar Knoll. However, on this occasion, I brought my visiting Midwestern mother, and like my initial lunch meal several months previously, our experience was equally delightful. The only change is that we elected to dine in the dark motif of the Presidential room. The clement weather still allowed us... More
