My wife and I had visited the Bedford County Fair and were looking for some place we had not been before to have lunch. Fair food used to be fun but we no longer buy there because they simply price it too high. So up...More

Look out Starbucks! This place has pizazz! The coffee and chai tea lattes were exceptional. Polite as could be.

Main Street café has become a welcome stop anytime we are passing through this area of Virginia. It is a comfortable, popular place, with an interesting variety of items on the menu. However, it appears that they prefer to jazz things up rather than serve...More

Judy, thank you so much for your feedback! Our chicken salad does have a secret blend of 9 herbs and spices, so it's got more of a kick in it than most recipes. The tomato basil bisque should not be overwhelming, and we'll check into...More

I stopped here while doing some business outside Altavista. I saw it while driving down the road. I felt everything was average. I purchased a salami, cheese, and tomato sandwich with a bag of chips and ice tea. You place your order and they buzz...More

William, thanks for your honest feedback. I'm sorry your experience wasn't super positive. Our pager system is quick and efficient, but it does lack the personal touch of a waitress. We hope that your interactions with the register staff and kitchen were positive. We would...More

Drive by and seen several cars near by but inside was rated empty. It was just after one so that didn't throw me. I was looking for plate lunch specials but they don't offer that. It's a very 'new age' place for the town I...More

Scott, thanks for your feedback! You must have just missed our lunch crowd, but they're mostly employees who need to be back at work by 1:00. We are a young staff but we're driven by classic ideas of really simple food (I mean, it doesn't...More

Tammatha, I'm so sorry your experience was not a positive one. The price of our BLT reflects the very high quality Boar's Head smoked bacon sourced from Virginia that we use in the sandwich, but unfortunately it sounds like that was obscured by too much...More

Hey Annie, thanks for this amazing review! However I'm fairly certain that you got the wrong restaurant because we've sadly never had an Oktoberfest event here - although we do have stellar cookies and pound cakes.

Ventured into Altavista in search of something better than a fast food chain. We found it. Excellent steak panini and Philly cheesesteak. Tea excellent. Chips....were chips. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good choice.

Tim, thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to pass several fast food chains to find us. The beef we use for both of those sandwiches is from Boar's Head, the best on the east coast. And the chips... well, they're just chips.

Reservations were made and tables were set up for us, a group of about 25 people. We made our orders at the counter, and service was prompt. The food was fresh and delicious. There were no complaints.
