If you stop off at Quitandinha then you really should have a German style meal at Casa Do Alemao. The food was tasty and as a sausage lover I enjoyed my meal. The one thing it lacked was ambience. You could be in a roadside cafe, which technically I suppose it is, however it lacked that feeling of being in... More

I visited this place many times and I am still wondering why it is so crowded and popular. Food offering is basic and average, restaurant is noisy and uncomfortable and service is not very friendly. I guess it has become sort of tradition to celebrate the end of the "subida da Serra" with a stop here. Other than that, I... More

Just to be clear, this review was from 2011. We stopped for breakfast and love sausage...didn't disappoint. A great place to have a meal and the prices were good, place was clean, and staff was great.

It was stated to me that this place had the best sausage sandwich in Brasil and I was a little sceptical but I shouldn't have been, it was real tasty and a reasonable price as well. Worth the stop en route to town.

Normally if you to to Petropolis by car, you will stop at Casa do Alemao, (the Germany House). And tried the famous croquette or the fried sausage sandwich , a kind of hot dog, great with a beer, they have a good selection to tried. Or just have a butter cookies with a cappuccino to keep you awake for the... More

The best snacks that you can have in the city, and is just in one of the entrances of Petrópolis; so is a excelent option for the traveler coming from Rio. The food has German origin and is very tasty; the decoration is also very good. Nice prices. There is plenty space for parking.

Nice place. Good snacks to eat there with kids and friends. The cookies are also very good. The price is reasonable. And it's almost mandatory to stop there before arriving in Petropolis. There is a free parking lot.

It is a traditional stop when one arrives in Petropolis. The sausage sandwich is good and everyone seems to love the fried croquettes, but I am not a fan. The cookies are also traditional. It is a very busy place and the service can be challenging. But after many years here we were. And it did not disappoint.

Casa do Alemão is one of the must go places in Petropolis. They have several option related to German food, such as sandwiches, snacks, Kassler, Sauerkraut as well as good beer and German sweets. Sometimes this place is crowded, because of their delicious options... Staff always willing to help. If you don`t go to Casa do Alemão, you can`t say... More
