If I had to choose one single place in Petrópolis, I would probably choose this one. Family restaurant, with a classic menu of local options, combining Portugiese heritage and Brazilian favourites, this place might not have changed much in the last 20 years. My only complain is that it not too comfortable.

This is a family business since day one, and they kept everything pretty much as it used to be when they opened. Cozy and simple, the food is delicious, as you can ask many of the old school locals. Nothing too sophisticated, but delicious. It's a little expensive, but every restaurant in Petropolis is overpriced these days so there isn't... More

Somehow I got the impression from the reviews that this restaurant is some thing special. It is not!! It's a basic Brazilian food bar, unfortunately very cold when we ate there ( we are used to Rio climate) with an indifferent waiter, despite my attempts to speak in Portuguese, although the manager did make a special effort to talk to... I entered this restaurant in Valparaiso just to use their Wi-Fi and get coffee. But feeling bad to have spent so much time in there, I ordered a beef sandwich (I don't exactly remember the name of the sandwich). It was delicious, I think that great a cut of meet usually ends up in a stake. The restaurant staff was... More

This is absolutely one of the best choices for lunch in Petrópolis, the "Imperial City" on the mountains near Rio de Janeiro. Olivinho offers a mix of portuguese cousine and traditional brazilian dishes, as well as some more "worldly" dishes. Try out their "Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá", a traditional portuguese codfish recipe, and the "Empada de Camarão com Catupiry",... More

True demi-french-come-Brazilian cuisine, good food and cold beers, a great place to go if you're in the area

The place doesn't need to be introduced for locals, so if you are a visitor and looking for a cozy place, a very good meal, local taste and friendly service this is your best choice. The menu has it all: starters, salads, pizza, pasta, beef, fish, seafood, etc. Most of the dishes, approved by its regular clientele, have been created... More

When you go to the restaurant Olivinho order spaghetti served in a dish made of Parmesan cheese. The spaghetti is served with lemon sauce. This dish is my favorite.
