We'd been looking for a good local restaurant - as opposed to one focused on tourists - and we found it here. The service was good and attentive. The caipirinhas tasty. The arroz piemontese was the best we've found in Rio de Janeiro. The steak was large and tasty. The fried bananas - marvelous.

A nice waiter with no English but ready to help have us a table just on the kerb. We probably should have taken a table inside as the humidity and heat were too intense to allow for enjoyment (after a while they closed blinds and turned in air-con for those inside). The menu is about "sharing cuts" of meat and... More

My husband and I stopped for an early dinner. Our food was good, the ambiance sitting outside was lovely and the frosty beer mugs were perfect on a hot night. Service was great and they had menus in English. Overall, very nice experience.

What an incredible restaurant. We frequented the the restaurant many times during our stay during the 2016 Paralympics. A wonderful family run, restaurant, welcoming and very honest. There was 12 of us most evenings and never a problem to accommodate us. Service incredible - iced beer the best we had in Rio! The steak is out of this world and... More

Seven of us came here for supper and had a great time. The food was delicious and served in plentiful quantities. Service was friendly and attentive. The manager spoke English and there is an English translation of the menu. The prawn risotto was particularly good. Highly recommended.

Fabulous restaurant. Great atmosphere inside and out at the tables they have for outdoor seating on the sidewalk. We sat at one of their outdoor seating tables and enjoyed a lovely meal while seeing the Ipanema transients go by. Food is delicious, carefully prepared and presented in a very homemade but polished fashion. We loved it and obviously recommend it... More

We went here for lunch and dinner, both times excellent service and food. The ribs are fantastic and the beef is really good. Local food on the pavement in Ipanema, life is good!

This is a restaurant where you can fulfill your longing for Brazilian "home food" and very good cuts of meat. It offers a "business lunch menu" on weekdays--with many of the same dinner options but at less than half the price. I like to order the "Contra-filé à Manuel," that comes with rice, beans, farofa, french fries and a steak... More
