We own a food business in the U.K. & when we travel we always try to discover a real local delicacy or we do our research to find out what's not on the tourist route. So when in Rio we explored many variations of Bolinhos and empada (like pies not to be confused with empanadas). Upon exploring Leblon one evening... More

Wonderful food good beer and the friendliest bar people in Rio. Didn't want to leave them. They were very helpful with the language and choosing different food for us to try. A great bar in a beautiful place.

This is one of the reasons Rio is so awesome! Go to the beach and after come here for a Chopp beer and one of their snacks - bolinho de alaide is incredible and the maravilha de camarao. It helps too that the owner Chico is one of the nicest guys in Rio. If you see someone who is always... More

I had the tastiest chicken sandwich I've ever had at Chico & Alaide. The bar was packed so we enjoyed a tasty Caipirinha while we waited for the food that was well worth the wait. If you're near Ipanema Beach or Leblon, I would highly recommend dining at Chico & Alaide.

Chico e Alaide says the history used to work in another "boteco" in Rio. They were very successful among other colleagues, with she cooking and he serving in the premisses of their employer. So, they decided to open their own "boteco" and they continue very successful. Allayed was already famous for being creative on finger food. Their bar is usually... More

We went with a group of friends, this place offers very tasty appetizers (a bit more expensive than in your average boteco) and nice cold beer... The bolinhos were varied and delicious! Good service too and a nice ambiance since the seating is outdoors.

One of my colleagues from Sao Paolo reccomended Chico & Alaide as one of the best "botecos" in Rio, so we had to try it! Very relaxed atmosphere in this local hangout and no tourists around. Draft beer (chopp) was chilled and my caipirinha was good and strong! We shared 5 orders of small dishes and they were all tasty.... More

It's a local pub so don't expect fancy but it's perfect! We were there on a Saturday, only locals hanging, it's very casual and fun. We mainly got drinks but the service was excellent and the capivodkas we had were delicious and strong, get it without sugar. Great place to experience the Carioca hangout culture.

It has great drinks and beer. Happy environment. Wonderful service. Great petiscos, primarily the shrimp kibe and the pernil with pineapple sandwich.

Chopp and Choquinho, there is nothing like that in Rio de Janeiro. Good at day, good at night. Do not leave city without tasting it.
